Where Is The Morchit Bus Station, And Are There Any Hotels Near It?
I’m in Thailand right now and want to go to Bangkok for the weekend. I wanted to see the Chatuchak Market, which I have heard is near the Morchit Bus Station (but I don’t know how close). What region of the city is Morchit in? I want to make hotel reservations, but I as I want to be relatively close to my hotel when I get off the bus, I need to know where the bus station is before I can make my reservations.
Please let me know what the part of the city is called. Right now judging from a map and what I have heard I think it is Thonburi, but I am not sure and would like some confirmation of this. Please cite your sources if you have any.
Thanks!

Morchit Bus Station and JJ’s is located in Chatuchak District of Bangkok. When we go to Bangkok to visit JJ’s we always stay at one of a few hotels on Pradipat Road it’s about a 10 minute walk to the skytrain and 15 minutes to JJ’s. You can also caught the #3 bus to JJ’s. When we come back to our hotel we usually take a taxi because we are carrying a lot of purchases and it only cost about 50 baht. Hotels we stayed at before are the Elizabeth http://www.asiarooms.com/thailand/bangko… or the Karnmanee Palace Hotel http://www.hotels2thailand.com/bangkok-h… both are 3 star hotels. Not fancy but reasonable.
If you want a decent bargain place to stay, near the weekend market, I’ll recommend Watana Mansions, it’s about a 10 minute walk from the subway (Suthasan) stop, which is two stops away from the weekend market.
The price for one is about 550 baht, or two for 650, you get a small breakfast, and 1/2 hr of free internet. It’s clean, not fancy; and fromt he subway you can get anywhere else in town you want to go. The taxi to Morchit costs less than 100 baht.
You don’t have to stay near the bus station. You could get a hotel near the Skytrain and use the Skytrain to take you to Chatuchak Market. This way you will have more to do in the evening than what is available near the bus station. The area near the bus station is not the best area to stay in.

The last regular stop on the Skytrain drops you off close enough to the market to walk. Keep in mind “weekend” for this market really means Saturday and Sunday if you want to see lots of stuff. Go in the morning when it is cooler. Most of the stuff opens by 10 o’clock.
Good luck.
Chatuchak Market is in Chatuchak area… and Morchit station is very near …. about 2-3 minute by taxi… if you wanna see around that area with hotels location.. very easy… go to this site… http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels… it will show you map with hotels location… you can also book hotel through this site as it offers you lowest rate guarantee…
Mor Chit is where the buses from the north come in to Bangkok. Thonburi is near the southern Bus terminal so it is not close to Mor Chit. Chatuchak is the name of the area or Ramkhamhaeng Rd.http://www.thaiwaysmagazine.com/bangkok_…
If you look at the map you will see Mor Chit is N8 on the BTS and right next door is Chatuchak (the weekend market). The bus station is on the other side of the park. There are not a lot of hotels in the area but you can stay most places in Bangkok and take the BTS to the market. From the Bus station a taxi is about 90 baht to the Mor Chit BTS.
