Going To Thailand This Sunday Has Anyone Stayed @ Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel?
Yes, I stayed there on the 3rd night after it opened. It was a stunning hotel located over a rather large and soulless Shopping Mall (better to shop in Siam Paragon or MBK). Service was good, rooms excellent and one of the best swimming pools in Bangkok!
No complaints other than I suspect it may be a little corporate, there is little for tourists within walking distance and taxi drivers don’t know it very well (although that has probably changed now it’s been open a while) – make sure you get a directions card written in Thai from the reception to avoid the problem.

Great hotel!! When we got there, we were given a free drink voucher (nice touch), free Internet connection (another nice touch), free bottles of water in the room each day. It was very clean and very modern. Everything in the room was well thought-out. The bed was like a Hilton or Westin heavenly bed. The room was quiet and we couldn’t hear our neighbors. We enjoyed the ample offerings at the breakfast buffet every morning. Even the buffet dinners were reasonable and provided a variety of choices. This is a peaceful oasis in a crazy city. It’s only three BTS stops away from the weekend Chatuchak market. Get massages everyday! Located 5 mins walking distance from the hotel (going towards the BTS station) – you’ll come across a small shop with a stall selling duck noodles. You can’t miss it – there are rows of braised duck hung up at the stall. The noodles is only 30 baht per bowl, excellent value, but more importantly… it’s quite delicious! Have a try of the Thai style iced coffee or tea at the stall along the street, may taste a bit too sweet at the 1st sip, but when the ice starts melting, it just tastes perfect.
