Getting A Visa To Philippines.?
Im gonna go to Manila if possible in February n March 2010 for – if possible – 59 days. My primary goal is to come to know my Filipina gf from Northern Caloocan. Of course I think abt going to Puerto Galera w/my gf too for using this occasion in the best way. Essential r cheapest possible costs, so I decided to ask for cheapest flight now. Well, I could find out that after booking flight I must pay in 72 hours. It means that I must get my visa as quickly as possible to hv one affordable offer which satisfies me n to be very close to 59 days of being there.
So I start thinking abt applying for a visa:
- visa validity as I could see is only 3 months but I need not less than 6 months,
- what to type in motivational letter I hv been pointed to write to give a good reason I want to stay there for almost 2 months:
if to accent Im going there to see my gf n summit her rented house as my hotel there or to accent tourist reason – but I need time to find accomodation in Puerto Galera maybe being on the place,
-if they need hotels n itinerary in a visa application, will they check it during processing or later?
- is it probable that they will deny me? As I could see it is more difficult than to get to Thailand for 3 weeks.

If you are a U.S. citizen you can get the visa at the airport when you arrive. It will be good for approximately 21 days. A few days before the initial visa expires you can apply for a 59 day extension. If you do not want to go to the Immigration Office for the extension most travel agencies can do it for you and will charge around 1500 pesos. They do ask when you enter where you will be staying they will not create a problem if you list “Hotel – unknown”. It is best to know a hotel name and address even if you have not booked and just list it then no questions will be asked at all. They also now ask who will guarantee your stay in the Philippines. If you do not have anyone that is okay for they know many are here as tourist and do not know any one in the Philippines. You can list the name and address of your GF if you want. The Visa entry is nothing for a U.S. citizen entering the Philippines do not worry. You can no longer pay at the airport for overstaying.
Mate just go to you nearest Philippine Consulate and fill out the necessary form and pay the fee and you’ll have a brand spanking new 59 day visa in less than 2 weeks. Its that simple. Whatever you do don’t apply for one when your in the Philippines because its way to much trouble. Seriously call your local consulate and they will fill you in on the rest.
Very easy in the Philippines. All you need is visa, enough bucks.
Say that you are in force leave vacation from your work, 15 days, but you need to rest for the flight. like that. they wont mind long you stay.
authorities know the Philippines is promoting tourism and even help you where hotels to stay in. visa validity would take for rush purposes.
stay up to May 2010 to see our election.
it is really easy to get visa in the Philippines because they advertise more the tourism in the country and they want as many foreigners as possible to visit and see the beauty of Philippines. good luck
Check with the Philippine consulate in your own country. You might find it easiest to go without a visa if permitted and then have your stay extended at an Immigration Office in the Philippines. Ask if you can do this.
the easiest way is to not worry about it.. u get 21 free days and then u can renew or just wait until u leave(and pay at the airport) for the days you went over.. i found this out the hard way.. the fee is the same if u wait to pay at the airport or if u take time out of your vacation before the 21st day to renew your visa.. the only way u need visa in advanceis if you’re a citizen of india or iraq.
Do not be intimidated: Philippine immigration rules are not as strict as they want to be portrayed. And I think it would be best if you write a hotel as your place of stay. Also, one good reason I see is for tourist purposes because the government is promoting tourism now. You don’t need to write a Puerto Galera place right away because Puerto Galera is quite far and not in the island of the airport so basically it’s common sense that you have to have a stopover hotel, as you are supposed to have a jetlag. And I don’t see you getting denied. Actually I don’t think they ever deny any US citizen entry to the Philippines.
