Do I need to get a transit visa to go to a hotel in Bangkok as my transit is for 14 hours?
How much it would cost me to purchase a visa and get a hotel for the day? Is there any cheaper option like an airport hotel so that I wouldn’t have to take a visa?

I agree with the previous poster as it does depend on your nationality. Many nationalities get granted a free visa upon arrival.
There is a hotel in the transit section of the airport however the rooms certainly are somewhat expensive so that would not be a cheap option for you.
