Try the Amari Watergate safe and very close to shopping. If that is a little expensive the Indra is right next door. Not as nice but does the trick
I’d recommend Arnoma hotel.
Arnoma is the right one as it is just opposite Central World Plaza, Big C superstore is on the right side, Gaysorn is on the left side and 10 minutes walk away from Platinum. Just outside the hotel, the street had many peddlers selling food, fruits, souvenirs, t-shirts, shoes at a bargain. There is a Starbucks right outside the front door. It is good to have a hotel near the major shopping destination as after a day of shopping under Bangkok’s hot weather, you two can get back to your hotel room fast to have a bath. it’s USD 73/night at early Sep http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels…
Don’t miss Siam Paragon- A upmarket mega mall with a department store and many high end boutiques and shops. Exit at BTS Siam Station which leads to level 2 of this mall. Connected with other shopping mall : Discovery, Siam Centre and MBK. So if you want to have some serious shopping, this is the perfect place. Have a nice trip!
Where to stay depends on your budget. Most places in Sukhumvit are safe. Cheap options would include Domino pub on Soi 11 Sukumvit or the Business Inn close by. The Federal, also Soi 11, is a little more expensive but still fairly cheap.
Slightly more upmarket would be the Manhattan Hotel on Soi 15. For better still, but not bank breaking, you could try the Royal Benja on Soi 5. All these are near BTS (Sky Train) stations so you can travel around the city easily and near to plenty of shopping.
Wow I hate to do this but I asked about a hotel near Sukhumvit and Karazyal’s answer would possibly be good for you. It’s a woman only hotel called Gunn house. See my question and his response.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
Of course you should feel safe at any place. I don’t think that there are any place that you should be on guard about, Thailand is a pretty safe and tolerant country and 99% of the hotels would provide excellent accommodations. Your only concern should be the quality of the accommodations. Bangkok is a modern city.
I recommend this budget and cool hotel called “HQ” on Silom Rd. It’s a central location on Silom Soi 3 where 2 skytrain stations are nearby. Also, the place is bright, clean and certainly safe. Night market and plenty of foods are around, so you will find it suit u very well. Hope this help.
We welcome you! Bangkok is (quite safe ). You should aware and make your self safe like you go to other countries. Should not go to somewhere quiet at night.
Here is the website that you can book hotel in Thailand http://www.hotelthailand.com/ or if you have any assistance, I can help you because I’m travel agent in BKK also.
you can email to me via bangkokfreeride@yahoo.com
Sheraton or something on the Sukhumvit Line that’s near the BTS.
it really depends on your budget though…
