Daily Budget In Thailand?
I am traveling in thailand with my girlfriend in November, how much would our daily budget be between us. We are happy to stay in budget accomodation and find cheap eats, but we’d like to go out and enjoy ourselves in bars and clubs ocassionally. We will use buses and walk most of the time, and occassionaly buy the odd book or cd. What would be the daily budget for Bangkok? and then for somwhere like Phuket or Ko Samui?

I’m sorry what was the question?
u have chosen the 3 most expensive places in thailand however there is always budget accommodation available……..decent room with a fan or air con £5 – £ 10 a night…….if u are happy to eat thai food from the street carts then £5 a day for foodhttp://www.thailand-cheap.com/http://www.enjoythaifood.com/learnthai/n…http://bangkoktonite.com/tips/cost_in_ba…http://www.bangkokbob.net/index.htm
I have been many times My way is to book hotels online my budget is 15uk pounds per night in BKK and then stick to that as much as possible In Khon Kaen or country you can get apartments for 450 baht per night for nice As a tourist however and your first trip I would advise to use an online travel site www.agoda.com and select your budget and area you can then be sure you have somewhere to stay I budget on about 25 uk pounds per day incl taxis etc but thats an estimate as in BKK you will spend a lot more than you plan
for 1 month I would make sure you have at least £1000 in the bank to use to be safe
You can always soend a higher rate then cut back the next day or ahve a great weekend and then chill out for a few days
hope that helps
have a great time you will for sure I am back next month !!
take care
if u take one bottle of bear daily then 100 THB for tht
Breakfast will cost Around 200 TBH
Lunch 300Thb
Dinner 300Thb.
i think around US$25. per Day .its not including hotel stay,
u save around US$40 as u r taking ur girlfriend with you. otherwise u had to spend at least this much money every night for a girl.
Assure u one thing.
Atleast once u will curse urself of taking ur girlfriend with u to thailand where u can get 5 girlfriends at a time and all them together.
If you want to save money just go to Pattaya from Bangkok and go to the beach about 2.5 hours from Bangkok. You can take the bus down there..Say $50 a day depending on what you do could be more or less.If you like to shop bangkok is the place but watch out there are plenty on fake name brand stuff.
10 dolla..
100 USD day minimum in bancok amd doun;e that at least for Phuket.
Sounds like for you $50/day or less.
There are cheaper cities you can visit such as Pattaya and even Chiang Mai. You don’t have to pay for plane tickets to go all the way from Bangkok to Phuket just to sit on a beach! Thailand is warm all over, top to bottom.
Not every person has the same price for “budget accommodation!” Start with a baht value for you hotel rooms and see what recommendations you get. Rough guess you could get a very basic air conditioned hotel room for around 1000 baht. You may have to hunt around for that price in Bangkok and Phuket.
Purchase or check a Lonely Planet travel guide out from a library. Look at their hotel recommendation list. Some tourists think only paying around 2000 or 3000 baht per night is a bargain! What is the price or budget you want to be at for a hotel room?
Food – figure on somewhere from 150 baht to 500 baht per day depending on what and where you eat. Even drinking has a big variation in pricing – cheap beer from a Seven Eleven store, beer from an open air beer bar or getting your drinking done in a fancy club will have you from 35 baht per drink on up to over 200 baht per drink.
Water from a Seven Eleven store or supermarket is pretty cheap. You can also shop at a supermarket and get some stuff for sandwiches or pick up some canned food. Some hotels have free breakfast too!
Figure out what you can afford to spend per day after you take out your plane tickets and then match your food and accommodation to that budget.
Good luck.
Living cheap and staying in non air con rooms and not eating western food then maybe you can spend $20.00 dollars a day.The drinks go up in price.Thai people can buy a days food for our 2 beers. As a tourist I spent anywhere from 400 Baht a day to 4000 Baht a day.4000 baht was me being very bad!
Now I live here outside the tourist areas where life is much, much cheaper than anything you will spend in tourist places.
Are you Bill Gates or someone who saved up to come here?
Thailand can be the same as anywhere else.Except that here you can find some of the cheapest places to stay in the world.
If you want an island to go to then trust me Koh Chang is the most beautiful island in the country.I have seen almost all of the islands in Thailand and it is the most amazing but it all depends on what you want. You can rent the most expensive places there or the best prices.
In Koh Chang, lonely beach you can stay in bamboo huts(or aircon) for next to nothing and if you are a partier you will find everybody smoking weed and eating mushrooms all around you and if you like that then go to lemon bar.If you don’t then go to white sands beach which is an even bigger party spot without the readily available extras.
Also, don’t get me wrong the Andaman islands are nice but the tsunami changed them.I lived in Phuket and I didn’t like it.It is mostly hookers and Honolulu skyscrapers.Koh Chang is the 2nd largest island in Thailand next to Phuket but only about 12 miles of it are touristy but with excellent clubs. The other 40 miles are your own private paradise.
Plus, not to sound like Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘The Beach’ but my wife’s family lives there and I have been there goodness knows how many times.I have traveled deep into the interior of the island hunting wild pigs with her father,.Trust me I know the island.
My point is,there is a secret beach on the back side of the island. You don’t have to swim like in the movie but you have to understand safety on motorbikes because the road is steep.Small and only paved on the high parts but VERY STEEP and only one meter wide and dirt on the flatter parts! It all depends on your sense of adventure. The people I have taken have had no problem because they were careful. The best part is that tourists don’t know about it. If you decide to go take a right at the abandoned guard shack on the backside of the island. If you don’t see it ask someone about where they attempted to connect the road around the island. The road was never finished around the island because the cliffs were far to steep. The local officials ignored this and tried to finish it.Don’t worry if you go to the secret beach you will be there at least 1 mile before that part but it’s a beautiful view to see.Remember, It is easy to miss and drive safely.I am not a tourist now and I know the island well and have only shown a few backpackers.Bring your own fun though unless you can speak Thai to the 2 people who live on the most beautiful beach you have ever seen.Plus they are nice as can be.Not gun carrying jerks like the movie.
Why do I tell perfect strangers this?Because I am an out of the way travel film maker and would have loved to have someone give me this advice before I left.
The beach is paradise!
