1. Childrens amusement check out the following site for more info.http://www.bangkok.com/kids-tours/index.…
Depending on the childrens interest, zoo, amusement park, aquarium, and….
2. Robinsons, maybe. I would go to Platinum Mall on the north side of Central World Plaza for that. Each floor has different types of clothes, just check out the directory for the floor you want to go. http://www.bangkok.com/shopping-mall/ind…
For bags and other things, if the heat is too much try MBK Center which is close the Platinum mall. The night market is still open and if they are there on a Sunday, there is Chatuchak Market which is easily accessible from the subway or skytrain.http://www.bangkok.com/shopping-market/p…http://www.bangkok.com/shopping-market/p…
3. Hotel rooms, for 3 people, maybe as little as USD 30 night per room. Probably around USD 60-80 per night.
Try the following sites:
www.asiarooms.com
www.sawadee.com
www.res24.com
There is a listing for family friendly rooms in www.bangkok.com but, I don’t think they are very “cheap”. Triples is sometimes hard to find, one alternative is a serviced apartment. Most of the amenities of a hotel, maid service etc. They just call it an apartment because they are looking for longer stays. They do have daily rates. Centre Point.com is on group of service apartments that are very nice and some reasonably priced.
Good luck
Dreamworld is Thailand’s answer to Disneyworld, although on a smaller scale. It is still very fun for children. There is also the Dusit Zoo. Visit http://www.visualthailand.com for 1,000′s of current photos for all Bangkok attractions and you will know right away the attractions you want to see.
Robinson’s is a high end department store in Thailand, but cheaper than in the west. MBK Mall is where you want to shop for cheap shoes and bags.
Hotels can be found for as little as US $30 a night. Any clean hotel near the BTS Skytrain is your best bet. This way you can travel around the city the fastest and cheapest.
Pattaya is a terrible place for families, it’s only good for single men
Bangkok
Chatuchak Market on Sundays is good, go early it gets hot and crowded. MBK is open all week but best to go on a weekday before lunch. It also gets very crowded.
The snake farm in Bangkok is good and educational. It’s a research centre at the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute. There are daily demonstrations of snake handling and milking
i think Pattaya is a great place for family travel. There are far too many attractions to list, but anything and everything is here: aquarium, wildlife parks, elephant treks, go karting, water parks, beaches, boat rides, boat tours, video arcades, fun restaurants, reasonably priced shopping, and hundreds of other things and places to go. All reasonably priced. Also Mini Siam park, a few
botanical gardens, and day boat trip to Koh Larn, 20 minutes by speedboat 400 baht one way, or 45 minutes by ferry boat… boats leaving from Bali Hai pier, just past Walking Street… boats leave about once an hour. Koh Larn is beautiful, like paradise… almost.
If you are staying in Bangkok, I’d recommend Arnoma hotel. Arnoma is the right one as it is just opposite Central World Plaza, Big C superstore is on the right side, Gaysorn is on the left side and 10 minutes walk away from Platinum. It is good to have a hotel near the major shopping destination as after a day of shopping under Bangkok’s hot weather, your kids can get back to your hotel room fast to have a bath. Just outside the hotel, the street had many peddlers selling food, fruits, souvenirs, t-shirts, shoes at a bargain. There is a Starbucks right outside the front door. http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels…
Don’t miss Siam Paragon- A upmarket mega mall with a department store and many high end boutiques and shops. This is a family destination with something for everyone – Siam Ocean World at the basement should keep the kids busy while the serious shopper is at work. Exit at BTS Siam Station which leads to level 2 of this mall. Connected with other shopping mall : Discovery, Siam Centre and MBK. So if you want to have some serious shopping, this is the perfect place.
