My wife is Thai and we want to live closer to her family. I want to know all my options for working there; I have a university degree. If you have experience teaching English with a good, decent paying outfit, please tell me about it too.
Thanks!

Looking for information from people who are informed on buying foreign real estate, preferrbly in Bangkok. This would be my only residence, and I would expect to live in it for 10 years, plus or minus. I’ve found a couple of properties I really like. What should be my major considerations in deciding whether or not to go forward with this plan? (Schools not an issue — no children.)

My current credentials are:
-3.8 unweighted GPA (4.3 weighted)
-33 ACT composite (essay only scored an 8)
-National Honor Society President
-Spanish Club Vice President
-Future Business Leaders of America Honorary Member
-total of 7 AP courses (almost all other courses are honors)
-great teacher recommendations
-Writer for school publication
-Varsity Baseball as a freshman
-Speak English, Spanish, and decent Chinese (I am continuing to take Chinese classes)
-Manager of the School Store
-40 or so community service hours
-Have not taken SAT Subject Tests yet
As a bonus, I lived in Argentina for four years and Beijing, China for five years. In China, I attended one of the best international schools worldwide and maintained a 3.5 GPA there unweighted.
I will be applying to college as unranked because I switched schools half way through high school. My first school was much more difficult than the second, giving me a much lower average gpa than I would have at only my current school. With only my grades at my current school, I am 5th or so of 300.
My essay is about me being in Thailand when the tsunami hit in 2004.
Also, what other schools should I consider (safety, fit, and reach)?

I want to know which tour is the best one and what place is a really nice affordable place to stay near the beach? If you have any other ideas please let me know and links please.

I’m planning a trip to Thailand for next year and wanted to go to both Bangkok and Phuket but i am not sure whether it is easier to catch a bus or by airplane??
Thanks in advance.

I have it on my computer I have the CD. Unfortunately I don’t know the name of it since I don’t have the cover anymore.
It’s on the same CD as the song Pattaya Pattaya.
Sorry

Please include price and travel time.

We are planning a trip for the beginning of October and we love to go snorkeling & diving. We prefer to have snorkeling off the beach! any Ideas on a great spot to go to?

I have just heard the news here in Australia so I don’t know how long ago the USA media have already shown this in the US.
It is not a pleasant piece of news and I’m sure those in the US are not happy - as would be if ANYONE from your own country are in that predicament.
However, I am also weary of people going into troubled areas, get into trouble - even after they are warned about the risk, and then EXPECT the government to rescue them.
(I am not just talking about Americans. There are other cases, for example, Aussies who ignore travel warnings and ventured into the Thai/Burmese border or those who ventured into the southern Thailand and then cry foul when they get into trouble)
Your comment? For or against OK with me as long as you keep it rational. Any name calling or personal attack on me or on other users WILL be reported.
Thanks

I have a return flight from Bangkok to Manila this coming week. My flight from Bangkok is at 11PM (close to midnight). Are the stores inside the airport still open by that time? Are the duty free stores open 24 hours?

I know that the most famous places for elephant trekking are the northern provinces, like Chiangmai and Chiangrai, but we don’t have time to go up there. I’m not necessarily looking for trekking, but at least a ride. And if we could find waterfalls somewhere within driving distance of Bangkok, that would great.

Bus. See Google search ( bus bangkok pattaya).
If you are travelling from the new airport see http://www.into-asia.com/bangkok/airport… and http://www.amazing-thailand.com/Pattaya.…
Getting There :
From Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok) there is a bus service run by Thai International. Tickets can be purchased in the arrivals hall. Two limousine services also offer transport to and from the International airport, at a cost of 1500 Baht one way. Transfer times from the airport vary from 2 - 2½ hours depending on traffic conditions.
From Ekami Bus Terminal in Bangkok air-conditioned buses run every 20 minutes to Pattaya, and are clearly labelled in English. A taxi ride from a central Bangkok hotel to Ekami will cost 100 - 150 Baht.

i am only a kid…

i will be visiting bangkok in about a week. i was just wondering what the cheap and cool places are to shop? on top of that:
1. is Suan Lum Night Bazaar still open?
2. when does Chatuchak not operate?
3. is MBK still worth going?
4. any other good places to shop?

Do you like the Thai language or the Cambodian (Khmer) language better? Just in general what sounds better to you?
I personally think the Khmer language sounds better because it is stronger and sharp, but my friends like the Thai language better because it is softer. You can tell this difference from their music styles too.
So Thai language or Khmer Language? =)
Thanks.
