I am studying in Australia at the moment and the future I would like to go to Hawaii, I want to know if anyone can tell me which embassy to go between in Australia and Thailand. Because of I m residing in Australia most of times for three years now. I am holding a partner visa too.

You need to contact your closest Spanish embassy / consulate.

I have a friend from Thailand who hopefully will be coming to stay with myself in England within the next 2 months but will they need assistance filling in the visa application at the UK embassy or is the visa application in Thai? My friend feels it would be beneficial to pay for a translator or a company to help with the paperwork for about 20,000 Baht (About £300). Is this right??

If you are already in Thailand and have already started your trip by entering the country, expatriates will tell you that due to Thailand’s bureaucracy often making it difficult for foreigners to get this done the traditional way (or possibly not allowing it in the first place), the cheapest and easiest way generally is to make a border run to a neighboring country (Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia) and get your passport stamped indicating you have left the country, so that when you return to Thailand you visit will now be considered to have started the day you return from the neighboring country and you have a new 30 days to stay in Thailand from the new date of entry.

You are going to have a difficult time getting a visa for your girlfriend
My wife is Ukrainian and we had horrendous problems with visas.
Unfortunately even if all your documentation is correct you will still be judged as if in a court of law where you are guilty until you can prove yourself innocent.
Your girlfriend will more likely than not be refused a visitors visa at the first attempt , and it make take considerable time and expense before you are successful.
You just have to stick at it and hopefully eventually you will be successful.
Good luck

Hello,
I am a little confused about the validity of the tourist visa. I am a UK citizen who is going travelling to other places before entering Thailand. So if I were to get a tourist visa, does that mean that as long as i enter any time within the 3 months I can stay for my 60 days.
Eg. if i apply now, and arrive in thailand in 2 months and 3 weeks… even though i am arriving towards the end of the 3 month visa validity can i still stay for my 60 days from that point?
i hope that makes sense!!
Thank you in advance for any help.

I live in the uk and plan to go travelling next year to Usa (about a month) Aus (a few months) and thailand (about a month)

I’m Chinese national, female, 35 years old. I got married with my husband (French national) in Thailand. We obtained the marriage certificate in Thailand. Now I’m in China and would like to get an ‘O’ visa to go back to Thailand to join my hubby. I entrusted a local agency to handle the case but they acquired a tourist visa for me, which is useless. As I have to get an ‘O’ visa for the following extension, can I cancel the tourist visa? Is it easy to do? Thanks in advance for any kind reply!

Hi. I live in Bangkok as a tourist. I make 3 visa-exempt visa runs and then get a visa at Vientane, Laos for a 60 day tourist visa and then another 60 day tourist visa to get around the 6 month rule. But I want to move outside of Bangkok to get away from the city pollution and also to see other places.
I’m interested in Phuket and other areas. But is there a Royal Thai embassy besides the one in Laos where I can conveniently cross the border and get a tourist visa? What about Malaysia and Myanmar? What about Cambodia? I haven’t been in Thailand long enough to be familiar with it. I don’t want to have to go back to my home country to apply for a tourist visa, so I’m asking.
On a related note, is there one place in Thailand where it’s possible to make visa runs (both visa-exempt stamps and tourist visas) on your own without a visa run service? Like takin the train to the border/embassy?

If you have an American passport, you don’t need a visa to go to Chile. Only a valid passport.
If you have a Thai passport, then you have to contact the nearest chilean embassy-consulate. I checked and there’s an office in Las Vegas:
Address: P.O.Box 371216 Las Vegas, NV. 89137, Las Vegas
Phone: 1(702) 456 99 65
E-Mail: consulchile@hotmail.com
Fax: 1(202) 4569965
Paulina Biggs, Honorary Consul

You American visa is only good for America….so, yes, a visa is required.

To file petition and get approval in a case like this, it’s no problem if you’re qualified. You need to have supported documents that you have clean record, pay tax, and have income no less that the requirements of the government.

I’m an Australian planning on spending 5 months in Thailand, starting in mid August 2009.
Half-way through my trip (late October 2009), I’m going to Australia for 3 weeks, but I’m returning to Thailand until January, and I plan on spending as much time as possible in the Ko Phangan / Ko Samui area.
Problem is, due to some issues with running out of pages in my passport, I’ve last-minute had to renew my passport, and I’m not going to get it back in time to get the 60 day tourist visa here in London (timeframe is just too tight).
So I’ll be entering Thailand without a pre-organised visa, so I think that means I get the 30 day visa exemption…
SO if I enter Thailand in this way, can I somehow upgrade it to what I really want, which is the Triple Entry 60 Day Tourist Visa?
Another way I’ve thought could be to do a visa run every 30 days until I get to Australia, and then get the 60 Day Tourist Visa in Australia…
It’s all a bit confusing, I wish I had time to get it from here in London but I don’t – any help would be really appreciated!!!

my wife used to work for a firm in bkk that performed visa services for ur situation. she ended up quitting due to the unscrupulous practices of the owners. their services can help, but just be weary. they advertise in the back pages of the bangkok post classified section. be careful of the ones that guarantee approval. there is no guarantee. will u get money back if it fails approval? your uk embassy is one of the toughest. are u married? are u partners? friends? depends on so much… does the person own anything like land or home that gives reason to the embassy that they would return to thailand? they are basically afraid the thai person will become a financial liability to the country.. so u will need someone to coach u thru the process.. and dont let the embassy know u use an agency..

Try this web site, there are sure to be very helpful people on here for you.

The Schengen Visa has made traveling between its 15 European member countries much easier and less bureaucratic than before. Traveling on a Schengen Visa means that the visa holder can travel to any (or all) member countries using one single visa, thus avoiding the hassle and expense of obtaining individual visas for each country. This is particularly beneficial for persons who wish to visit several European countries on the same trip.
The Schengen visa is a “visitor visa”. It is issued to citizens of countries who are required to obtain a visa before entering Europe. The purpose of the visit must be leisure, tourism, or business. Upon the issuance of the visa, the visa holder is allowed to enter all member countries and travel freely throughout the Schengen area. It is strongly recommended to plan your journey within the timeframe of the Schengen Visa as extensions can be very difficult to obtain, thus forcing you to leave to stay in compliance with the Schengen Rules and Regulations. A Schengen visa allows the holder to travel freely within the Schengen countries for a maximum stay of up to 90 days in a 6 month period.
All Schengen countries are in Europe. However, it should not be confused with the European Union (EU). Schengen and EU are two different agreements between European countries.
you can obtain the schengen visa by applying to one of the ‘schengen states’ :
As of 2006, the Schengen Treaty countries consist of:
Austria
Germany
Belgium
Denmark
Finland
France
Greece
Iceland
Italy
Luxemburg
Norway
Portugal
Spain
Sweden
The Netherlands
you must apply to the country of first entry in Europe. so if you are going to Paris and then say, Amsterdam, you must apply to the French Embassy.
if you want to avoid going to the embassy, some of them offer postal visa applications too. visit the relevant country’s embassy site for more details.
google ‘schengen’ for more info

we only asked for a 3 week visit ,me and my wife have a job to come back to in thai which i have a letter for the appeal, we have got many photos and a copy of a lease we had for over a year out in thailand with both our names on, we are married on paper, any other tips or help please many thanks

the ‘easiest’ visa to get is the tourist visa.If you’ve not known your g/f for at least a few months don’t bother,if you have you will need: bank statements
employment/income details
proof of relationship ie letters, phone bills, photos, anything like that
her employment details/proof
plus a whole lot more, the list isn’t exhaustive and the more you can do linking you to her the better.Don’t do what I did first time and go unprepared. In reality you need to convince the embassy staff you and she are genuine. You may get through to the ‘second round’ which is encouraging. This involves an interview, normally your girl will be on her own and she MUST NOT flap or contradict herself in any way(even the smallest detail),The Thai interviewer will expect your girl to know your address ,post code and everything……..not as easy as it may seem.
I don’t wish to worry you both but that’s how it is.If you need any other help add me to your contacts.
Just a word on using agents……they can be useful, however don’t believe any extravagent claims, there are no guarantees and if you follow the rules you will get a visa, maybe not this time but sometime.Persevere
And get in the queue early, also a good hotel to stop at in bkk is dead opposite the embassy called the Holiday Mansion(its on the web)

Hey everyone, Just a quick question about Visas – well not exactly quick lol.
I’ve known a Thai woman since 2002, who was the same age as me at the time 22. Anyway we’ve been talking for years, and even having an ‘online relationship’ so to speak. The problem was i could never go over to Thailand since i had problems with panic disorders – hard work getting me on a plane lol :-P
Anyway we drifted apart afew years back simply cause at the time i was dealing with the panic disorders, and bouts of depression, not a good mix – i’m feeling great now i might add lol. So, she eventually found someone else, an English bloke, and eventually got married – last year.
So they come over to England so the guy can raise enough funds to move back to Thailand – and we just recently met up (me and her i mean) Soon as we saw each other it totally reminded us both of how much we really mean to one another – abit sloppy i know lol.
Anyway she’s thinking about divorcing him, and for me and her to finally get into a serious relationship.
My question is, will divorcing her English husband, and wanting to live with me here in England – affect her chances of me being able to sponsor her for a new visa straight away?
Sorry for the long question, but i’m just looking out for any negatives to our quest for togetherness :-P Thanks again for your time – Ben
