I’m 23 and my ultimate dream is to live in different countries, travel and learn different languages. Probably for 3-4 months in each county. At the moment, I speak fluent Filipino and English, basic to intermediate Spanish, Thai, Malay, Chinese and Tamil, and a little of other languages.
My friend invited me to study Spanish with her in Spain for 3-4 months, but I think it’s too expensive for me now (I still need to save for the flight ticket, etc), so I’m thinking of going to Bangkok first. Any good school to recommend? Anything to share based on your experience?
Thanks!

Try the Post Office or a branch Thomas Cook. The larger branches of these should be able to help you.
Don’t use a High Street bank because you’ll get the worst exchange rate.
Preferably find a friend who’s going to Thailand and sell hime the money for ‘cost’.

Anything close to Chembur……

ive just bought and paid for my first rtw trip…. ;-)
after searching through which visas i have to get, i found the thai one abit confusing.
many websites say that i can just get a 30 day visa stamp (free) and all i have to do is catch the flight, fill in forms on plane and bring a couple of passport photos of myself………
another website says that you have to have proof of travel out of thailand eg, flight booked out so they definatley know your gonna leave.
my problem is that im planning on traveling thru thailand and flying out of singapore. Obviously this is possible as many people do it, but i dont want to get on a plane to bangkok and be refused entry as i havent got a flight leaving the country and the wrong kind of visa
if anyone could help id be very.v.v gratefull
cheers

i need to get the bus here and cant pronounce the town name so that locals understand me!can anyone help?

Hello there,
I was looking for any nice recipes for Bhutan rice, or any sort of curried, masala sauce I could put over chicken or serve over jasmine rice. I would appreciate it a lot. There are no Indian-food restaurants within about 3.5 hours of where I live, and would love be able to at least make some. I have also had some similar Thai dishes made with a similar effect to an Indian dish before, which was lovely. I have a large array of spices so at lease that is not an issue. I have tried some recipes before, but would really like some ones on making common sauces or dishes for my husband and I.
Thank you greatly.

I was in Pattaya a few days ago although i had a lot of fun. My white friend was getting way more attention than me… Even though im way better than him when it comes to dealing with woman and im the one who is more popular with the women here.
Alot of them just straight out rejected me…point blank. Its like they had already decided they dont want me before i even approached them. Now im generalizing here….of course there where those who where very cool. But it seems like the white folks there were getting women without even trying.
So… What do Thai girls really think about black guys. Think “snoop dogg” cz i look just like him in everyway and everywhere i go ppl holla SNOOP!
Ps. Im not emotionaly distraught or anything like that so i would appreciate just the facts and not supportive words like “it doesnt matter what you look like…its who you are that matters, not what you are…etc”

I already speak French, English and Spanish. Thai and Mandarin are both tonal languages, but Thai has an alphabet, whereas Chinese doesn’t. Hence my question…If one is to compare the grammar of both languages, which I think are fairly similar (no gender, no plural, no singular, no “tenses”, etc.), would it be true to say that Thai is easier to learn?

Just read the other post about tourists falling in love with bar girls in thailand. Why can’t these tourists see that these bar girls are just lazy no matter what reasons they told you about how they became a prostitute. Many decent thai women would do manual work or work in factory rather than selling their body to sweaty fat old farangs. These bargirls just enjoy the easy money that you offer so she could go sit in a salon gettting her hair and nails done everyday looking as if she has got it all. Don’t you men feel cheated when you pay dowry to a family of a prostitute? dowry is supposed to be given for the virginity of the girl and for her public standing. By the way even when you hand over the money to the family you’re supposed to get it back as what a normal thai family would do so the couple could start their new life with the money. I m only talking about the sex tourists who never get such attention in their own countries especially from girls so much younger.

I am the age of 21, same as my girlfriend. We’re about to finish our degrees at university. And need to make a decision about what we will be doing after..
I met my girlfriend in our exchange programs to New Zealand and have been going out with her for 5 years. We were there together for the first year then she went back to Japan while I carried on my study in NZ. It is a serious relationship but in “long distance”. However, we managed to cope with it for more than 5 years now, we meet about 3-4 times a year when we have holidays. Right now, I am finishing off my degree in England while she is in Japan. We want to be together in the future but it seems way too hard for us.
We are in the process of thinking about where to live, in Japan or Thailand? Since it seems impossible for me to get a job in Japan. While both my parents own their business in Thailand. So it seems easier for us to live in Thailand, in terms of earning money..
But the problem is, I am not sure whether she will feel lonely in Thailand, even though she will be with me? Would she be able to fit in with Thai society? Her parents are worried that she has to go through all the difficulties which she wouldn’t have if she marries a Japanese man. Also it must be hard for her to face the culture difference. So I was thinking to break up with her so that things will be earier for everybody. But I realised it is also too hard for me to cope with a life without her. Every solutions we came across, there have always been problems. We both love each other and believe in our relation. But it is so hard to realise the fact that we are not the same. I don’t really know what to do, I would like any help please..

If you have a British passport you wont need a visa to enter Jamaica. If you’ve got a passport from Thailand I suggest you contact the Thai embassy and find out for yourself the Jamaican embassy is notoriously slow when it comes to picking up the phone .
