There are many, many places that will show games. If you don’t want to be bothered by the girls find a British or Irish pub like the one near Ripley’s Believe it or Not but not in the same little mall. Walk out for the front door of that mall and keep going and it will eventually be on the left and you walk down some stairs and into the pub. Looked a great place to watch matches but I can’t remember the name as it’s been a while. Hope it’s still open.

I’m suppose to go to Thailand Nov 6 – Nov 30th (provided all is safe with the coup). While I’m there, my brother and I would like to try base jumping. I’ve heard there are places in Thailand that do it. Does anyone have any information about where to go or look to find it???

I know that the most famous places for elephant trekking are the northern provinces, like Chiangmai and Chiangrai, but we don’t have time to go up there. I’m not necessarily looking for trekking, but at least a ride. And if we could find waterfalls somewhere within driving distance of Bangkok, that would great.

I would like someplace near the beach, cheap, not too crowded, direct access to good snorkeling areas, and lots of local Thai food from street venders, or other cheap eateries. Any suggestions?

Bangkok time 2 or 3am in the morning? anything set-up especially for it?

just a weekend getaway, in thailand or malaysia since i heard there’re some very beautiful beaches, some which not many people have heard of! any ideas or experiences to share?

Are there markets close by? I really want cheap clothing and mabye some basketball gear will i find this in Bangkok?

Check out Sanry’s Money Changer, they have the best rates I’ve seen. You can find a branch in most of the major malls in the city, especially in the Makati area.

What city in China, Japan, Thailand, and/or India is the best place to own a business? Lower air and water polution rates would be great.

Hi
Just wondering if anyone know where’s the best place to exchange Thai Baht in Sydney? Banks, hotel, money bureau etc.
I need only small exchange just enough for me to get around when I get off the plane. How much Baht do I need for
transport and food? (ie from airport to and from hotel) Do I need passport to exchange foreign currency? I am staying in the north Din Daeng area.
Finally is there anything else about BBK I should know or be aware of?
Thanks a million for all those experienced travellers
Vicki

I’m thinking about going to Thailand for schoolies. I’ll be going with like 12 girls and i was wondering where is a nice beach that is close to Patong? I stayed at Patong earlier this year and though personally i loved it i know my friends would find the beach disgusting. I’ve heard that Kata is nice but is it expensive and is there much to do there? Also would you recommend Bangkok for a couple of days if you have been there? Thanks

I am actually planning to go to Bangkok, Thailand in October. But I dont know exactly the best place to go, and if it is safe to go alone. I am a lady. Would like to go to the best and safe beach, that was not effected with the Tsunami, and ofcourse best place for shopping. Any views and opinion are welcome.

Thailand is a huge country, with 76 provinces. Popular places like Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya are definitely filled with ‘farangs’. There are so many unseen places of attractions, albeit less popular. I recently travelled to Phisanulok, toured Sukhothai from there and on another trip, Kanchanaburi. Interesting places, with not too much ‘farangs’.

I like Japan, assuming you want girls.

Does anyone here know of any decent places to meet Thai girls here in London? This could be a bar, club, or whatever! Just looking to make some Thai friends based in London, UK really!

if you want to go there, your best bet would be to contact a travel agent from there.. just type in “travel agents in phi phi island” or “travel agents in thailand” another thing to do would be to go to a yahoo chatroom from thailand and ask someone there who is from that area…

Ok I’m trying to find the location of a resort/hotel villas as it’s always been a place of interest to me, but I have no idea where it is. The place is like a set of bungalows I think that sit out on the ocean. You walk out to them on boardwalks from a little island – kind of looks like a typical fiji/thailand type island. The little bungalows (or whatever they are) literally sit on the ocean and the ocean is your backyard etc.
Anyone know what and where I’m talking about? Can people holiday there?
I have a picture of it but I don’t think I can upload it here

we did like samui because it did still hav the backpackers feeling and not built up and not expensive one example we used to stay at the ark bar bungalows for 300bht ok its upgraded but now 2000bht. samui was good for the beach life but you also had good night life. we are looking for the same in another part of thailand any suggestions.

Wow maybe the prices went up! I went to Thailand a few years back as a backpacker and was paying $2 or $5 a night, admittedly not for a hotel and sharing a room, so I thought I’d find a nice hotel place for around $100 a night – doesn’t look possible – is it just Phuket perhaps, maybe some other Thai destinations by the beach are cheaper – I’m looking for somewhere quiet though – not the full moon party zone!

My boyfriend just left me. When I first met him, it was like there was a huge promise between us in the future. Every time we were together, we were always having a lot of fun and happy. My boyfriend is very smart man who has been around the world, done lot of things, know many people, and everything. He can easily wear a rag and socializing among poor farmer in third world for months then go to his hotel and change into a expensive Gucci suit and socialize with college professors, doctors, CEO, and other highly respected people at very upscale restaurant or hotel in matter of hours.
He has a degree in engineering and he used to be in the army special force. Now he’s running some kind of microloan business, help with starting business, do some engineering service, and provide security service as well. He often goes to dangerous area or some area where most people wouldn’t want to be in such as poor part of Africa, South East Asia, and other area. He was in Georgia just after the war this summer as well.
I never knew he did security service until I forced him to explain me why he so rarely let me visit him while he’s at work. He finally admits that it is too dangerous.
My boyfriend also is very irresponsible in some way. He bleed moneys like crazy. One time he got paid 14 thousands and spend it all in just four months and he already paid his car and house off, so it’s not like he have any big bills to pay. Other time when I visited him in Thailand, he had this very old crop duster that look like it’s about to fall apart at any time. He still uses it often. He also never thinks about any risk he’s taking. In fact the more risky it looks, the more excited he get. He even sport a couple scars from his job and have got really sick in past. He also made no efforts to have any luxury for himself when he’s oversea.
Basically he can easily raise enough moneys to set a decent business here and live a comfortable and happy life. But yet when I told him yesterday if he boards the airplane to go to Africa, he didn’t hesitate for a moment and got on the airplane.
Why would he want to live like this?!

I am looking for a place, other than a conventional hotel, to spend some time with a girl and pay per hour. Does anyone know of a place like that in bangkok?
