I want to know which tour is the best one and what place is a really nice affordable place to stay near the beach? If you have any other ideas please let me know and links please.
I’m planning a trip to Thailand for next year and wanted to go to both Bangkok and Phuket but i am not sure whether it is easier to catch a bus or by airplane??
Thanks in advance.
I intend to sleep (in my sleeping bag) at Bangkok airport. Do you know if they allow it? Thanks.

Has anyone been to Phuket and can tell me if the beach is polluted or nice and clear,it looks great in pictures but have heard it is polluted.any answers gratefully received
My husband and I are taking his father (and the rest of the family) to Phuket next February/March for his retirement gift. Any ideas on fun stuff to do? And yes, I know, Thailand is an odd place for a family vacation, but that’s what we chose. Any info is most welcome.
Finding an inexpensive beach house in Phuket this time of year isn’t going to be easy, it is high season Jan.-Feb., and Phuket is having one of it’s best years for tourism in awhile. You might want to book a room for a few days and look around when you get there, otherwise try the classifieds or the many real estate companies who advertise in the Phuket Gazette, Craigslist Thailand or one of many websites like this one:http://www.phuket-rentals.com/
I know a few friends that spend a lot of time down there, and they usually find weekly or monthly rates at an inexpensive hotel there, but finding a cheap rental right on the beach isn’t going to be easy, have fun.
I am planning a vacation in Bangkok & Phuket for first time in Jan-07 How can i get a female company to stay with me and guide me to explore these two cities for 10 days. any other suggestion to plan my trip better.
should i see a travel agent, or is this something i can simply do on my own, i will be flying from michigan.
I am planning a day in Phuket. The questions are:
- what is the closest elephant Safari to Patong Beach?
- we would like to ride an elephant. Would it be enough to spend there only 2-3 hours? Or is it a long lasted safari trip, and we need to reserve a whole day for it?
We want to combine 3-4 attractions at the same day:
1. elephants riding (2-3 hours)
2. shooting rang (2 hours)
3. Wat Chalong (1,5 hour)
4. Phuket Downtown (3-4 hours)
5. go back to Patong beach.
Would it be possible to do so?
thanks!
details below:
-preferably below or up to usd200 per night
-inclusive of breakfast
-privacy is a must
-quiet & secluded but not too far from the shopping streets
-the beach is clean or being cleaned all the time due to tourists’ mess..like soda cans, plastics, leftover food etc..
-beach front means when you step out of your room, it’s really there and not an “exodus” if you get my meaning
-hotel has it’s own private beach area
-big pool
-amenities and room are really clean
-room service, hotel restaurants and bar are open 24/7 as i am a lone traveler most of the time.
-and last but not the least, when i booked, the hotel front desk won’t give me a headache of saying, “i have to wait as my room is not available at the moment or worst, put me in a more expensive room”. (no cheating of hotel mgt)
thank you very much and your feedback is highly appreciated.
pls don’t give me websites as i do search but what i want is a more personalized recommendations.
I am confused that famous coral island in thailand is nearer to pattaya or phuket, or if there are two island in thailand with similar names ? Also can any one tell me about wether condition at bangkok & phuket at mid june.
planning a trip to thailand in january. group of 5 girls…. would Phuket or pattaya be a better destination? Fly or drive from bangkok? we would like a mixture of things to do… elephant tours, crockadile farms…clubs and good nightlife…etc..
We will be visiting Bangkok for 9 days and I am wondering if it would be worthwhile to make a side trip to Phuket.
I’ve been reading endless websites about the rain in Phuket during September. How bad is the rain? This is my first time traveling to Thailand and I was really hoping to visit the Phi Phi island to snorkel for the first time and do some kayaking, on top of sightseeing and shows. I am just worried that I’ll be stuck in the hotel room for the entire time (I’ll be going for about 4-5days). Can someone give me an honest answer?
If early September is bad (I was thinking 9/3-9/8), I can bump up my trip to late August (between 8/20 and 9/3) - would that be better??
Please help!
You can fly from Pattaya’s U-Thaphao Airport to Phuket, Bangkok Airways has a daily flight between the two cities. It is on the expensive side, fares start around 3,700 baht each way. It isn’t much further to drive to Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and fly from there, you can fly round-trip on Air Asia for less than the one-way fare from Pattaya. If you don’t mind spending more money, Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways also fly that route and IMO are much better airlines. Or as Bob said, you can take a bus.
its me again, who will honeymoon in bangkok and puket, so I should not bring coats, jackets and long sleeves with me? so its safe to take only shorts and short skirts and a bikini? I really wanna double check on the weather since its december and where I come from its cold that time of the year. Im also going to kuala lampour, is it the same or different?
Wow maybe the prices went up! I went to Thailand a few years back as a backpacker and was paying $2 or $5 a night, admittedly not for a hotel and sharing a room, so I thought I’d find a nice hotel place for around $100 a night - doesn’t look possible - is it just Phuket perhaps, maybe some other Thai destinations by the beach are cheaper - I’m looking for somewhere quiet though - not the full moon party zone!
Hi guys, last year I asked about where I should go in Thailand.
I’ve finally got some money together so I booked a flight from Bangkok to Phuket for January 2009. I’m now reading up on Phuket and I am not sure if I would like the swanky, overpriced hotels swarming with farangs in Phuket.
If Phuket doesn’t seem to work out, where else should I check out? Are there any ferry to the Krabi province from Phuket? Which island is nice to chill out for 3-4 days? Any ideas on sleeping places?
Thanks.
Were heading over to Phuket for the first time (have been to Thailand before) but haven’t booked accommodation yet.
We want to stay in an area which is close to night clubs, bars and general entertainment and not too far from the beach!
Can anyone advise us on what part of the island we can get all this? I’ve heard that Phuket is pretty lively in general, but we want to stay in the most liveliest area!
It would also be pretty handy if you could tell us how much the approximate taxi fare is from the airport to the area.
Thanks!

im planning a vacation to thailand and will be in phuket from dec3 to dec9… am looking for a hotel that is comparable with the deevana resort spa wing… around $50 per night. Found the deevana on a website for 47$ per night but only for the garden wing which i am not liking from the pictures. Also …. do you think i could get a deal if i called the hotel direct??? or is it always better through websites?
thanks so much for your help!

The first bar girl I slept with didn’t charge me at all, she just wanted to have intercourse. I saw her again another day and the same thing happened..after her shift we went to a dance club and danced for a little then had sex again. She performed oral sex on me without using a condom. I accidentally ran into her again a third day and the same thing happened. She even turned down guys hitting on her at the dance club. Why do you think she didn’t charge me for any of the nights? She also took a picture of me and used it as her cellphone wallpaper. Was she just really into me? Usually they charge 1500-2000 baht a night. I am still worried about STD’s so I will get checked, but I would just like some suggestion as to what you think about the situation.
