My girlfriend and I are hoping to go to South East Asia this summer for all of August and the first few weeks of September. my mother was diagnosed of cancer back home. she lives in thailand. i live in the UK. my close friend in town became so suffocating and selfish. this was because i needed time to myself and i closed up. i told her about my mom but i did not always pour my heart out to her etc as i did not want pity. she felt left out and started to feel that i am spending time with other people but just not with her. i cut her out of my life as i was tired of her never changing her behavior and being respectful of my wishes. she begged me to give a final chance, but i did not anymore.
i found out this from a friend she confided in (i wasn’t supposed to know). after i cut her out, she was deeply hurt. she went from hating me to feeling guilty to liking me to everything. she also wanted to get the mutual friend tell me that she was going through a rough time to see if i would care and go.
anyway, its been 7 months and now she wrote me this long apology admitting to being insecure and jealous and regretting suffocating me and not being a caring friend.
is it possible for me to forgive and see if she has really learned this time?
So i’m heading to Thailand late January for 4 weeks to Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui (also to Koh Phangan for full moon party) & Pattaya.

I need an estimate from travelers that has been to Thailand:
- Food (mainly street food / cheap restaurants & a few dinner nights at nice classy restaurants )
- A few sight seeing
- Public transport
- Drinks (i dont drink much. usually 1 glass of champagne or a cocktail drink etc)
- Attraction entrance fees?
- Massages and spa treatments once of twice a week
I was planning $100AUD (approx. 3000bht) per day, do you think that’s enough ?

Right now they are struggling as tourist numbers are down. they get a basic amount of about 6000฿/ month just for being there, serving drinks calling out “hello hansome man, please sit down” etc, then if they get lucky a “bar fine” of about 400 ฿ of which they get about 25% then if they leave the bar with a “boy friend” after the bar fine is paid its up to them , I have heard a pretty girl tell me she got 6000 from two different boyfriends in one night,(I didnt ask her) but many go for many many nights with nothing
