Why I can’t read in Thai language?

There are no such words.

what does moo mean in thai? why did every street address have “moo” in it when i went? is it like that everywhere in thailand or just where i went?

I was just reading a novel from 1930 which closed saying that there is no word for “goodbye” in Thai language – - my thai is ok, but I too tend to use the English “see you later” – what do most thai use in parting?
I am looking for common usage and if the above is correct..
also – I have found there to be no positive connotation for the word “serious” – mostly translated as kriat – but Thai seem to understand the English as well – - do they use this in a positive way at all – - or just that you will surely get a headache..

If you can, go to a Thai language class. The languang is very much tonal and wrong tone will give a different meaning. So best to have expert help especially with the pronunciation. Not easy reading text due to different letters used by different writers.

I can’t read any thai language E-mail subject in beta. I must turn back to old version before read them.

The word hong means room, kreua means family. So, hong-kreua literally translates to family-room, but the english meaning is really kitchen. The word non means sleep. So, hong-non literally translates to sleeping-room, but the english meaning is really bedroom. The word nam means water. So, hong-nam literally translates to water-room, but the english meaning is really bathroom or toilet.

my kids only speck Thai and are having a hard time with only english specking games

There are four races here in Singapore, chinese, malays, indians and eurasian. People living in Singapore usually speaks in English, whether you are chinese, malays, indian or eurasians or foreigners. Mandarin and Malay are spoken too.
Unless you are looking for job which thai speaking is required, so you will have advantage, otherwise, it is rarely spoken in public or in work place.

I would like to learn Thai, but am kinda nervous about attempting this. I know that the tonal languages are quite difficult for people who have only known latin based language.
Do you know of a program that works effectively?

Would someone please clarify this for me…..in a conversation with another person they were discussing people from China that moved to the United States. The person I had this conversation with is not of Asian decent, but said he worked with the Chinese (who spoke no english) and spoke to them in Thai and Mandarin.?
I’ve heard of Chinese Mandarin, but not Chinese Thai. Am I confused? I know Thai is Asian, but isn’t the Thai language primarily spoken in Thailand? Is it common for someone who is Chinese to speak Thai as their first language?
If someone would clarify this for me, I’d appreciate it.

Since Yahoo change to New Yahoo! Beta. All Thailand user cannot read Thai Language. We always have to changed an encoding for each message. It cannot change encoding from UTF-8 to Thai (Windows) only one time. Most of people here feels very bad for this problem. Please try to solve a problem and let us know.
