I am now living in Thailand and am staying at a gorgeous executive serviced apartment that has a built-in voltage converter that one can go between 220 and 110 with a flip of a switch. I flipped the switch to 110, plugged in my toothbrush charger base and set the toothbrush in the cradle. The light blinks for about a 1 minute or so to show that it is charging but then stops blinking all together. When I test the toothbrush, it seems to be in working order. Is it still charging when it’s not blinking? Is the charger base broken? I know that the voltage difference will cause things to charge more slowly but I am not sure that it is working here at all. Does anyone understand how this works?

I’m arriving in Bangkok at midnight - the trip to the hotel will take another hour. So, I’ll be at the hotel at around 1am.
What date should I select for the “check-in” date?

im going to Pattaya on December to have an operation so If I could get more info’s where to go there while healing then i’ll truly appreciate.
what are the places to avoid?

also what good bars are there for solo american travelers?

details below:
-preferably below or up to usd200 per night
-inclusive of breakfast
-privacy is a must
-quiet & secluded but not too far from the shopping streets
-the beach is clean or being cleaned all the time due to tourists’ mess..like soda cans, plastics, leftover food etc..
-beach front means when you step out of your room, it’s really there and not an “exodus” if you get my meaning
-hotel has it’s own private beach area
-big pool
-amenities and room are really clean
-room service, hotel restaurants and bar are open 24/7 as i am a lone traveler most of the time.
-and last but not the least, when i booked, the hotel front desk won’t give me a headache of saying, “i have to wait as my room is not available at the moment or worst, put me in a more expensive room”. (no cheating of hotel mgt)
thank you very much and your feedback is highly appreciated.
pls don’t give me websites as i do search but what i want is a more personalized recommendations.

I want to complete my adventure, i been to thailand but never been to japan, and always wanted to be there and live there since when i was a 5. I had a thai woman break my heart and thrown me in the garbage. I never want to go to thailand again, it will just bring to much sad memories, i want a new beginning , so i will create a new chapter in japan. I see the culture alot more beautiful in japan than i do Thailand
so if you can tell me the rates in the Hyatt, and some other holtels in places outside of Tokyo where is suburban where i can stay cheap. i also want to see a friend of mine who lives in iwate. whats the cheapest way to get there? and how much would a bullet train cost?

I have read a number of guide books, pocket guides and so on about travel in Thailand. A recurring theme seems to be that it’s OK to ask to see your room before paying for it, to check for hot water, a/c doesn’t rattle like a freight train, even to turn over a pillow or two to check for evidence of bedbugs. Is asking to do this acceptable behavior, or would a Thai consider it to be rude?
Would you say “doo gorn, krup?” or doo gorn dai, krup?” (forgive the spelling please)

i am particularly interested in Bangkok

Traveling to Thailand in may/june and i would like to find a nice, inexpensive hotel close to the airport. The flight is long and we would just like to sleep when we get there and then leave to our island in the morning. there will be 2 couples so we would need 2 beds. im not really finding anything that mentions or gives the options for 2 double beds. thanks!

Hi, I am visiting thailand for my honeymoon in the month of may. I will be heading to phuket, but will spend 2 nights at bangkok (1 before and 1 after phuket). It seems Silom & Sukhumvit are the happening areas in bangkok. I wish to know, which out of these is a better hotel for shopping, nightlife and getting to other bangkok attractions such as Emerald Budha & the river.
My Budget is under 1500 Baht/night, as per reviews The Heritage Hotel (Silom) and Swiss Park Hotel (Sukhumvit) look good to me.
Plz Help!

im planning a vacation to thailand and will be in phuket from dec3 to dec9… am looking for a hotel that is comparable with the deevana resort spa wing… around $50 per night. Found the deevana on a website for 47$ per night but only for the garden wing which i am not liking from the pictures. Also …. do you think i could get a deal if i called the hotel direct??? or is it always better through websites?
thanks so much for your help!

My friend is traveling to Bangkok tomorrow and she wanted to stay at this hotel and she did not find reservation does any one know a good hotel near this address
1091/343 New Petchburi Road Makkasan, Rajthevee, Bangkok 10400 Thailandhttp://www.bangkok.com/eastin/facilities…

We are going in 2 weeks, we get in at 9pm and leave the next morning at 7am, so we just need to be able to eat & bathe, a massage would be nice but not required, and I dont want to stay in a complete hole in the wall if possible. The Novotel is too expensive, the 4 others close by are all very inexpensive (between $27-$40) and I was hoping someone might recommend one of them over the other. The hotels are Queen`s Garden Resort At Riverview, Floral Shire Resort Bangkok, Convenient Resort, and Suvarnabhumi Grand Residence. If you know of a different reasonably priced one too that would be great too! Thanks for your help!

Hope you guys can help me…

Am on a budget, uhhmmm, actually on a backpacking mission in Singapore and wanted to spend three nights in Singapore before moving to Thailand.
