My family is going to be hosting an exchange student from Thailand. She going to be staying with us for the year. I was wondering if anyone has hosted a female exchange student from here before?

Ok I’m trying to find the location of a resort/hotel villas as it’s always been a place of interest to me, but I have no idea where it is. The place is like a set of bungalows I think that sit out on the ocean. You walk out to them on boardwalks from a little island – kind of looks like a typical fiji/thailand type island. The little bungalows (or whatever they are) literally sit on the ocean and the ocean is your backyard etc.
Anyone know what and where I’m talking about? Can people holiday there?
I have a picture of it but I don’t think I can upload it here

I would like to learn Thai, but am kinda nervous about attempting this. I know that the tonal languages are quite difficult for people who have only known latin based language.
Do you know of a program that works effectively?

Does anyone know of disater relief for small businesses in Thailand?
Our small golf course and driving range was seriously damaged, by a hurrican force wind, yesterday, friday the 13th of April 2007. We sustained 1 to 2 million baht (30 – 50 thousand dollars) damage and don’t know where to turn to. Any assistance from anyone will be greatfully appreciated. Your prayers are also solicited. We thank you.

I entered a competition recently and I had a phone call tonight saying I won $1000 in hotel vouchers for Wyndham Hotel Resorts which I can use all over AUS and NZ, and phillipines and thailand, I am in Australia and never heard of them, they want me to attend a meeting on Saturday and I pick the tickets up after the meeting, will they screw me over? is it dodge? should I forget it?

So here goes:
I currently have 2 brothers, 1 father and 1 mother (duh)
My mom divorced my father 5 years ago.
My mom found herself a new man who was himself divorced and had
one child.
A year and a half later, she gets separated from him and brings another man home.
That man got married before, and had 2 children.
That man got divorced and left to live in thailand for another 2 years.
That man gets married again with a thai woman and has another son.
That man suddently leaves his old family, travels for years.
His son is sent to a bhudist temple by his thai mom.
That man meets my mom, he divorces his old wife and him and my
mom both get married.
We go to visit that thai son in his temple, and my mom insists on bringing him home (due to the difficult life situation they live in).
For the next 5 months, we have a noble bhudist monk living with us until he decides to change his life, drops bhudism, and starts going to
hotel school.
I currently have one true mother, one true father, one step father, 2 sorta sisters (his girls), another sorta brother (his son) who used to be a monk.
I go visit my dad once a week at his house, but generally live with my mom.
My step father has bought a second house, in which they go every weekend, and sometimes force me to come with them, to stay for a few days.
I now have a new girlfriend, and am supposed to explain all this to her… anyone have an easy solution without scaring her away from me? >>

Apart from the specialized dance / rnb or drum and bass clubs, it seems like the paylist for most London clubs are stuck in 2001, I’m sick of hearing the same old tunes every single Friday or Sat night, you can practically predict what will be playing! Seeing as we’re paying extortionate prices for drinks and door charges we should at least expect to hear some different music for a change and little bit of originality.
In my opinion, London nightlife is turning into one big rip-off with bar/club owners getting lazy and booking the same djs who are too scared to experiment pumping out the same tunes night after night…I hate hearing the same old commerical crap! In Thailand some nights I heard much better music…stuff that hasn’t even reached here. I’m not sure if London deserves to be considered as one of clubbing capitals in the world anymore, seems like its stuck in the 90s right now! What’s your opinions?

We are moving us and our cat to Thailand from the UK. Is any quarantine required or do we need any vets certificates? Anyone with any similar experiences or better at searching the net than me?

I am required to visit Thailand a great deal in my business. I usually just went in and got a visa on the spot, for up to thirty days. However, recently I’ve started a new project there (I’m a consultant) and need to be “in country” for longer stretches than that. It used to be that you could take a short flight to Malaysia or other nearby country and than fly back in to get a new visa. Now, however, they are enforcing there immigration policies more attentively and to try to do that would definitely cause questions if not downright denial of entry. Would be curious to know from anyone with this experience. Incidentally, the nature of my project in Thailand is such that I already pay a witholding tax for earnings in Thailand. So tax avoidance is not an issue, as I willingly pay the tax already. In addition, the client is willing to sponsor the visa. I am more interested to know if the process is lengthy or difficult.

Hi
I am looking to go to Thailand for the first time, and going to Phi Phi Island (Cabana Hotel) has anyone used the websitehttp://www.sawadee.com/
and is it a good honest site?
Thanks

In Thailand they have what they call “serviced apartments,” which cater to mostly long–term guests, but most will also rent the rooms on a daily or weekly basis. Many offer 1-3 bedrrooms or studios, most have kitchenettes and will range from basic accomodation to ultra-luxurious in all price ranges. Many have restaurants, bars, pools and fitness centers with daily maid service, hence the name serviced apartments. I know you can try www.thailandservicedapartments.com, they have listings for many cities in Thailand, or you might try whatever city you’re going to be in, followed by serviced apartments in your browser (for ex.: Bangkok serviced apartments). You will find Bangkok has the most listings, as it is the business centre of Thailand, but there are offerings in other cities as well. I’ve had friends who have stayed in a few of the nicer ones, and the accomodation was first rate. Good luck!

I found this site: http://www.golfthink.com/golf-lessons-in…
and I was thinking of going along next month when I’ve over there but wanted to find out if they were a waste of money first. They’re not cheap!

Looking for something affordable, not wanting to pay 100′s of dollars a night. Nice, private, quiet area. Room service is a must, along with double bed – definitely not 2 singles which is what happened last time I was in Thailand! Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

no jokers or bullshitters plz

I was wondering if anyone could explain the lyrics to me. I think its all innyendo, but I don’t get it and its killing me!

Hi guys, my name is sofia, I live in Los Angeles. Help! My boyfriend and I would really like to get away this year, at the end of December, possibly beginning of January for an eight or nine day vacation, Our budget is limited, and Im really vexd on where we should go. My best friend’s are going to pukhet Thailand, but I can’t seem to find anything reasonable during that peak holiday season. We really don’t have to travel there. My boyfriend has NEVER been outside the united states (I know:) so I wanted to bring him somewhere unique, exotic, and fun… I was hoping you might have a good idea, maybe a story from one of your travels that you would like to share with me. I am really overwhelmed! Ideally our budget is really only about $2,ooo per person airfare, hotel, and food, and I DON’T want to take a cruise! lol.. Am I crazy, or is this doable? I would so appreciate your help! I have a fantastic two bedroom apt between westwood and Beverly hills, anyone up for a home swap:) Thx Sofia

My parents stayed at the Horizon Patong Beach Resort & spa last Christmas and they really enjoyed their stay. The hotel is not brand new but the price was absolutely correct for the location and the wonderful facilities.

I will be in Bangkok during the next week. Hopefully I will land at the new airport of Bangkok, the so-called Suvarnabhumi Airport. Does any of you know how far is it from Bangkok downtown?
By the way, I will stay at the Grand Hotel at the address of 20 Ratchadapisek 18, Huay-Kwang, BKK 10310. what is the cheapest way to transfer from the airport to that hotel? Any bus route or express way???
Thanks in advance any help

I have no idea where it is but it seemed like thailand to me
