I’m dying to figure out how to make this Thai dish. I used to order it at a restaurant by my old work but can’t find the recipe anywhere.
It was basically chicken with bamboo & basil in a creamy curry sauce served over white rice. The sauce was NOT red, it was like yellow but I think they call it green curry? I keep finding recipes for the red curry sauce & that’s not it. Also, where do you get bamboo? And how do you cook it? I’ve never cooked any type of Thai food before. Thanks!

We will be hosting this school year for one year an exchange student from Thailand. I would like to hear from other host family’s in the US that has hosted a female exchange student from Thailand…
What to expect?
Anything special I should do to make her stay more comfortable?
Anything I should provide to make her adjust?
Any difficulty in school?
Broken english how to overcome?
Any funny issues to be prepared for?

Well, I am a very friendly person by nature. I like to talk and make jokes.
I was born and raised in Thailand. I used to have a lot of friends in Thailand. My parents and friends are still back in Thailand. I am studying in U.S. since I was 17. In highschool, I did not speak very good English; therefore, I did not make a lot of friends.
In college, my Englsih is better, but I was very busy with school and work. I was working 40 hours per week. I was taking 18 credits every semester. I am 22 years old. I almost finish a Master Degree without any credit card debts or student loans. On the other hand, I did not date anybody or hang out with any of my friends. I never kiss a boy. I hardly go to clubs or bars.
I am a lonely girl ![]()
Anybody else lonely? Please advice. Thank you!

An economy based on tourism. Though other things are also important to Thailand.
I met one online and she seems to be very normal but I am concerned isn’t it that Czech Republic has the most LIBERAL environment towards prostitution, comparable to Thailand. A simple Google search would show too many attractive girls at very “affordable prices”.
Is prostitution very much socially acceptable in Czech Republic as in Thailand, or are there women out here who have learnt to AVOID this side source of income.
I don’t mean to generalize but I seem to really like this girl and she has a good personality, height, SLIM, manners speaks English – but yes, she also works as a BARGIRL.
Moreover, she lives not in Prague (Praha) but in a place called Jicin in Hradec Kralove (which is a rural, village-like place). If I am not wrong, it’s only Prague which seems to be frequented by all kinds of pleasure-hunters.

We would like to install a floating pier for tranfer guests to speedboat, yacht, and helicopter. We would like to know about platform, costs, and how to install it in Phuket, Thailand.
Patong beach has a really long and pretty beach, but the town its self is a bit seedy. As was mentioned before, it’s not really good for kids or recovering alcoholics ;p
There are tons of small beer bars, and a few bigger clubs. The nightlife centers on the famous Bangla Rd, which is in the center of town and it closed to most traffic in the nighttime. The people watching is great if you like watching funny drunks, ladyboys and men picking up ladies for the evening or week. The first time I saw it I was in shock, but got used to and enjoyed if after some time.
Restaurants are everywhere and can be very high end, or little street stalls. The seafood is wonderful and there is a big range of European food.
Shopping is fun at all the little stores. Every sort of trinket you could possibly imagine at good prices. There is also a brand new mall, that is huge and has a lot of nice chain stores.
There are a couple of pricey resorts, lots of mid priced hotels, and guesthouses that range from pretty nice down to ramshackle for as little as 250 baht per night.
A lot of day trips around the island are run from Patong and are a lot of fun to get out of town for a bit.
If you are looking for some peace and quite, I would advise staying in Kata or Karon, they are about a 15 minute cab ride away. But if lots of noise, lights and general sensory overload is what you’re looking for, then Patong is your place!
this is a pretty good site:http://www.patong-beach.com/

Hello.. I have a Thai friend, her full name is Sirikwan Wongsuntik if i still remember correctly.. Her English name is Reena…
Reena, Robin and me studied together at NYU Singapore 5 years ago. After the course is finished, she returned back to Bangkok. First, we still sent each others emails, but this recent few years, we have lost in touch.
Her mobile no. is not active anymore. I sent a lot of email to his yahoo id “sirikwanw” but there is no reply until now…
I sent email to her friends, no reply was given, probably her friends do not know me.
Anybody who know this Thai Girl, kindly pls let me her that I’m looking for her… Mail me @ surfer.paradise@yahoo.com
FYI, She’s a graduate of agricultural degree…
Thank you…
Well, it depends on the type of traveller and what he or she is out for. Many people like to do the usual Thai circuit: stay in Banglampu when in Bangkok, venture to Chiang Mai (but nowhere much else in the north), do Pattaya and the nightlife, head to Phuket and party, and finally, Koh Samui. Off-the-beaten track is not in the itineray. Many tend to walk the beaches and bars at these places to see and to be seen – usually the same crowd also doing the same circuit. Not much Tahi culture is experienced – but they stumble back to the hut or guest house at the wee hours to sleep it off. These kind of traveller’s love the Full Moon Party.
Other traveller’s avoid Pattaya, Phuket and Koh Samui like the plague.
To me personally, the Full Moon Party was just a bunch of drunks and snob farangs who ended up fighting to be first in the boat queues the next morning. It interrupted my otherwise peaceful month-stay in a remote part of Koh Phangan. If you do go, I think it is advisable to be with some friends so you can form your own party – otherwise, catch an early boat back to avoid the rush.
is it good or bad
I’m looking for luxery hotel in pattaya with privet beach
A girlfriend of mine and I will be going to Thailand soon and specifically we’re looking at Bangkok (but we’re not limited to that area). We’re into the nightlife (dance clubs, restaurants, and bars, and could enjoy some touristy stuff during the day) and am looking for an area with a good clean vibe. (It would be nice to throw in some beach time, but I’m thinking my time might be too short for it)
Because we’re both single girls (in our late 20′s, early 30′s), we’d like to venture out to spots which would have decent looking straight men with a good mix with the crowds. In addition I’ll only be staying there for a week or a little bit more and will be looking at staying in a hotel. I did see a lot of 4 star hotels around but am wondering if anybody would have any first hand recommendations. Also, should we rent a car when we get there, or should we just use public transporation?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
(Thailand is not my first choice as a destination for this type of trip, but we’re accompanying her parents there so they can take care of some business there. Her parents will of course be off and doing their own thing)
How is the area? How much noise is there from the beach etc.?
