I recently traveled to Bangkok. i visited the Grace Hotel in Sukumvit several times. My friend told me that there are lot of Russian Girls in Grace hotel but i did not see any. Most of them were overweight old ladies from Uzbekistan. So what happened to the Russian girls?

i am travelling to Vietnam and my flight has a stopover in Bangkok, i have my vientnamese visa sorted but do i need a thai visa too just because i will be landing in bangkok, though not actually leaving the airport before my flight on to Hanoi??

I just want to look good in my holiday snaps!?
I can make my hair look pretty decent if I use a straightening/de-frizz cream, blow dry and straightening irons, but how can I keep my frizzy haystack hair under control in the middle of humid Thailand … possibly without electricity? We’ll be hiking and doing outdoorsy stuff, visiting caves, temples, & markets, going to the beach, and partying in the big cities.
My hair looks just about exactly like my avatar. It’s chin-length with layers (the shortest bits are about level with my eyes) and a side swept fringe. (But I can grow it a bit cause the trip is 6 months away.) It’s mid-brown, normal texture, a bit wavy and very dry and frizzy. I have an oval face, so I can wear pretty much any style.
because it’s backpacking I can’t carry too many products, etc. and I don’t want to spend ages in the bathroom every morning.
Cut and styling advice please?? And please give as much detail as poss cause I’m not the greatest at doing hair.

i’m a guy (sort of) i’ve always wanted to be a girl – i went on a gap year with two friends and while in thailand we thought it would be a good idea for me to have my boobs done, (its cheap(ish) over their). now i’m back home, strapping them down and wearing baggy clothes, so my family dont find out. but i’m glad i have got them and wanted to meet them at the airport wearing a low cut top or something – but i chickend out. they don’t know i want to be a girl – what do i do?

I’ve looked at places like Thailand, etc. They offer such fantastic value for money, but the climate at that time of year is very wet.
Maldives is apparently changing from wet to dry monsoon during October and November – and I’m not sure what that means! Will that be wet?
How is South Africa as a tourist destination?

So far during these past protests tourists have not been the targets. Tourists were inconvenienced but not directly assaulted.
If we could predict the future we would all be millionaires! What will happen in January – who knows? Keep in mind that if something comes up have a “plan B” in place on how to get back home. (For instance you can go to a nearby country and fly from there if things are not quickly attended to and your airline may switch the flight for you – for free!)
I had a flight back home scheduled on the first day of the protest at the airport. I got the idea right away that this was going to go on for a while and booked a train to Hat Yai and from there went to Butterworth and from there to Singapore via KL. My airline paid for the flight home from there. Made it back to my home country 8 days before the others left Thailand. (Had some business to attend to or I would stayed in Thailand.)
Don’t waste too much of your time mostly in beach areas. You can even get a tan in Bangkok or even Chiang Mai. Try to fit a visit into Chiang Mai if you can so you can see some of the things that make Thailand unique.

In the movie The Love of Siam, Tong’s family has a picture wherein they are posing in front of a sign saying that they are at the highest point in Thailand. I think it is somewhere in Chiang Mai. But where there exactly, like, with that exact sign and all.

We are 30 and 33 year old professionals, based in San Francisco and planning a honeymoon in Asia in August. i am planning a trip 4 about 4 or 5 months at the start of next year from dublin into india stay there for maybe 3 months..(i heard thats how long a holiday visa lasts) and then from there fly to bangkok travel thailand for a month then into cambodia 4 15 days and to vietnam 4 15 days then back into thailand and home to dublin…would i be able to get an open ended ticket for all my flights or would it be better to buy them when i get in2 india to go 2 bkk and buy in bkk 2 go back home 2 dublin….any help would be great…cheers
