I live in Thailand and anyone who has ever been will know that it is a gold mine.
You can get anything there and make good money.
So I want to find a shop, market, anyone who sells etc to tell me the item they want, then I find and give a good price.

I have a friend from Thailand who hopefully will be coming to stay with myself in England within the next 2 months but will they need assistance filling in the visa application at the UK embassy or is the visa application in Thai? My friend feels it would be beneficial to pay for a translator or a company to help with the paperwork for about 20,000 Baht (About £300). Is this right??

If you are already in Thailand and have already started your trip by entering the country, expatriates will tell you that due to Thailand’s bureaucracy often making it difficult for foreigners to get this done the traditional way (or possibly not allowing it in the first place), the cheapest and easiest way generally is to make a border run to a neighboring country (Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia) and get your passport stamped indicating you have left the country, so that when you return to Thailand you visit will now be considered to have started the day you return from the neighboring country and you have a new 30 days to stay in Thailand from the new date of entry.
I’m going to be visiting Ko Samui in Thailand in a few weeks and I’d like to get a couple of three-piece business suits made while I’m there. I’d like to know what to expect in terms of cost and where to go.
You are going to have a difficult time getting a visa for your girlfriend
My wife is Ukrainian and we had horrendous problems with visas.
Unfortunately even if all your documentation is correct you will still be judged as if in a court of law where you are guilty until you can prove yourself innocent.
Your girlfriend will more likely than not be refused a visitors visa at the first attempt , and it make take considerable time and expense before you are successful.
You just have to stick at it and hopefully eventually you will be successful.
Good luck

Just curious as to the initial investment cost for starting or buying a business is Thailand or India? I know two people whom have done so sucessfully but it has been a good 3 years since I have spoke to them and I know the economy and “rules” change. They put in about 10-15 thousand. Any laws I should know?
I very much look forward to receiving some genuine replies to my questions.
Are there any special rules and regulations, that have to be followed, before I send a parcel or hamper, with typical Scottish/British non-perishable foodstuffs, to Thailand.
Do you know of any Company in the United Kingdom that specialises in providing this service?
My friends, a British husband and wife, who now live in Thailand, have always been so kind to me, so for Christmas, I thought that it would be a kind gesture to send them a gift from Scotland.
Incidentally, they have both a P.O. Box address and a regular postal address in Thailand.
I very much look forward to receiving some genuine replies to my questions.
Hello,
I am a little confused about the validity of the tourist visa. I am a UK citizen who is going travelling to other places before entering Thailand. So if I were to get a tourist visa, does that mean that as long as i enter any time within the 3 months I can stay for my 60 days.
Eg. if i apply now, and arrive in thailand in 2 months and 3 weeks… even though i am arriving towards the end of the 3 month visa validity can i still stay for my 60 days from that point?
i hope that makes sense!!
Thank you in advance for any help.

I’m going to Thailand from Los Angeles in rainy season (but not monsoon time). I need to find the lightest weight, least expensive shoes (or sports sandals) possible that will look as “business casual” as possible on the plane but will work in rain, rain forest and can be easily slipped off at temples while sightseeing. I’ll be walking a lot but no heavy-duty hiking. Brand names you like? Best/cheapest place in L.A. area to buy? Thanks!

I’m Chinese national, female, 35 years old. I got married with my husband (French national) in Thailand. We obtained the marriage certificate in Thailand. Now I’m in China and would like to get an ‘O’ visa to go back to Thailand to join my hubby. I entrusted a local agency to handle the case but they acquired a tourist visa for me, which is useless. As I have to get an ‘O’ visa for the following extension, can I cancel the tourist visa? Is it easy to do? Thanks in advance for any kind reply!
I am a resident of 4 country Australia,New Zealand,Thailand and India. How can I use this residency status in doing business?
I’ll keep this short-ish.
Me and my Mum are on our summer holidays, but my dad works for himself (he has his own architect and interior design company; VIA Studios, Bangkok), so he doesn’t get many holidays.
My mum is kind of depressed because I don’t want to go shopping (I’m more of a computer and game person) with her, and my dad isn’t taking her anywhere or they’re not doing anything together.
So I had this idea to organise a fun date for them, except I don’t know what there is to do! I don’t want to organise like a dinner date, I mean actually doing something. (but not too hot because my mum hates the Thai weather, she also won’t do rock climbing or anything like that. My dad isn’t the romantic type either, just so you know.)
So I’m just wondering what is there to do in Bangkok, Thailand? We live here, so sight-seeing isn’t really what I had in mind. Are there any places to go?
My mum is 35 and my dad is 34, my mum hates anything physical and she is concerned that if she went horseback riding, the horse’s legs would break, my dad is into the outdoorsy stuff, like rock climbing and hiking and all that. My mum likes shopping and I quote ”exploring new places” (but not outdoor.) So what is there to do?
Are there any grown up activity centres (lol) or anything, nothing cheesy?
It’s an easy 10 points, please help and make an old woman happy (:
Thanks for any help.

Hi. I live in Bangkok as a tourist. I make 3 visa-exempt visa runs and then get a visa at Vientane, Laos for a 60 day tourist visa and then another 60 day tourist visa to get around the 6 month rule. But I want to move outside of Bangkok to get away from the city pollution and also to see other places.
I’m interested in Phuket and other areas. But is there a Royal Thai embassy besides the one in Laos where I can conveniently cross the border and get a tourist visa? What about Malaysia and Myanmar? What about Cambodia? I haven’t been in Thailand long enough to be familiar with it. I don’t want to have to go back to my home country to apply for a tourist visa, so I’m asking.
On a related note, is there one place in Thailand where it’s possible to make visa runs (both visa-exempt stamps and tourist visas) on your own without a visa run service? Like takin the train to the border/embassy?
You American visa is only good for America….so, yes, a visa is required.

I am almost finished with my undergraduate (Finance and International Business) at a university in New York and am planning on getting my MBA in California. After I receive my MBA I want to work in the United States for a few years (to get experience) and then move to Thailand to work (half-Thai so I can speak both Thai and English fluently). I was wondering, when finding a job after getting my MBA, what companies should I be looking at that give opportunities for people to work in Thailand.

To keep it simple, i am Australian and I need to know how many times per year I am allowed to visit Thailand with a tourist visa. I have a very good friend who is buying a business there and while he is going to be able to obtain a business visa to allow him to stay I will not be able to get the same visa so I thought I could just visit him as much as possible…I have been searching the net however I am unable to find out how many times per year I will be allowed into the country with a tourist visa. Please if anybody knows the answer to this question I would really appreciate it.
I’m an Australian planning on spending 5 months in Thailand, starting in mid August 2009.
Half-way through my trip (late October 2009), I’m going to Australia for 3 weeks, but I’m returning to Thailand until January, and I plan on spending as much time as possible in the Ko Phangan / Ko Samui area.
Problem is, due to some issues with running out of pages in my passport, I’ve last-minute had to renew my passport, and I’m not going to get it back in time to get the 60 day tourist visa here in London (timeframe is just too tight).
So I’ll be entering Thailand without a pre-organised visa, so I think that means I get the 30 day visa exemption…
SO if I enter Thailand in this way, can I somehow upgrade it to what I really want, which is the Triple Entry 60 Day Tourist Visa?
Another way I’ve thought could be to do a visa run every 30 days until I get to Australia, and then get the 60 Day Tourist Visa in Australia…
It’s all a bit confusing, I wish I had time to get it from here in London but I don’t – any help would be really appreciated!!!

my wife used to work for a firm in bkk that performed visa services for ur situation. she ended up quitting due to the unscrupulous practices of the owners. their services can help, but just be weary. they advertise in the back pages of the bangkok post classified section. be careful of the ones that guarantee approval. there is no guarantee. will u get money back if it fails approval? your uk embassy is one of the toughest. are u married? are u partners? friends? depends on so much… does the person own anything like land or home that gives reason to the embassy that they would return to thailand? they are basically afraid the thai person will become a financial liability to the country.. so u will need someone to coach u thru the process.. and dont let the embassy know u use an agency..
