How about handmade teak furniture it sells for a fortune in western countries
Exporting would be a good business, but there’s a lot of competition from the big boys, and there is specialist knowledge required. You would need to do the market research. I know a guy who used to fill up a container with teak furniture every year in Thailand and ship it back to UK and sell it in his shop - he now goes to Indonesia instead as it’s a lot cheaper and a bit more foreigner friendly.
What you could do is rather than export yourself, find sources of low-cost, hand-made, good quality products and find contacts in the UK prepared to import those products. You could just use a shipping agent to export the items.
The other thing you could do is provide a tour service of possible suppliers. You would meet the importer at the airport (or arrange for them to be met) and then take them on a tour of possible product suppliers, acting as an interpreter and guide. The importer could then arrange things with the supplier directly and just use a shipping agent.
Your value add would be in the finding of the superior suppliers, which requires your local knowledge (which the importer won’t have). You also act as a translator/interpreter and can help the importer arrange accommodation/transport etc in Thailand as required.
If you want to start an online business you can pick up some free resources from my site - see the link below. Your knowledge of Thailand could be very valuable so try to leverage that.
Do like most thai girls do. Marry a rich farang guy and use his money to open a business.
