She broke up with me in December after we dated 2 years. She wanted to remain friends but I said no because it hurt too much. We are just now starting to talk again after I reached out to her. She is in China and I am moving to thailand. She sent me this email”
“hey- i thought of a few things that might be helpful- altho im sure that you’ve already researched a lot-
i would pick up a “cocoon”- not sure what they’re really called- they’re liner’s for a sleeping bag- these are so useful! they’re prefect for backpacking and when you have to sleep in dirty hotels. also- pick up some rei underwear- the kind that dry very fast- youll probably have to hang dry your clothes and assuming thailand is humid- your clothes will tend to have a musky smell- avoid lots of cottons! ginger candies- you can pick some up at whole foods- just nice to have when your stomach’s upset- altho you can pick up some pills for that too- uhh thats all that i can really think of- let me know if you ever need anything- ill be able to help you faster than your family since im closer- ”
Should I take anything from this other than her being friendly?

Personally everyone around me know I’m kind person. I got the black friend as same as Iranian friend. I enjoying indian films/arts/architecture. I’m Eurasian, part swedish and thai with a little bit arab decent. I was born in thailand, I try not to hate Indian people although many thai people dislike indians. -in thailand we got the ancient idiom. “when you meet snake and Indian ppl in the same time, then beat the indian before snake because they are so tricky and fraudulent.” I had never believe that old idiom untill one day I have to making the bussiness to the indian people.
- Do you know? Indians is the first number of the foreigners who like to commit the crime in thailand? for example raping the girls and killed them cruelity. one of the girl was very beautiful, fair skin and she was only 16 years old when she was raped and killed by the indian man who went away from thailand after he did that.
when I were in thailand I heard such a news, indians
raped and killed the little girls but I had never heard any foreigners do that. -the indians like to come here and selling the roti on the streets, most turned rich in thailand, still they appeared to be mysterious for me. I dislike to making a bussiness with them, I always feel bad after that. u know? I do not racist at all but after I talked to indians people. I’d consider them to have the most sick manner. for example,
- asking ppl in the ambassy to use the cellphone, -persuading the bus driver to talk and when he/she need to get off he/she doesn’t pay money. -they always lack of rosponsible for example, asking my boss to arrange them the van and hotel in countryside and a sudden they wanted to cancel everything with the most childish reason, they are too sleepy and didn’t want to wake up. -they always unbelieveable nice to you when they wanted to sale you things but when you came to their store and there is no things you want to buy, they will turned to be very cold and wanted to chase you away quikly in order to get the new custumers. -my mother teachs english language, she was the tutor for the indian girls, the parents of the girls sometime didn’t pay the money for her. I think the Indians from Bihal city seem to be the most nice indians awhile the least are so strange, tricky and ill.
P.S and please, if you were indian and wanted to answer my question? I wanted to talk like a adult. I do not hate you but I just wanted to know the reason why most indians seem to be that way?

Your thoughts please?
BAN TATIT VILLAGE, Thailand (AFP) - Despite a moral snub from several star French chefs, a Thai luxury hotel group ploughed ahead with a meal it claimed would help bridge the divide between the rich and poor.
About 120 guests clad in black-tie finery late Saturday worked their way through 10 gourmet courses, prepared by five chefs flown in from Europe and served in the glittering ballroom of Bangkok’s Lebua Hotel.
Some guests were flushed — perhaps from the wine, but also after a day in the sun in a rural Thai village. The visit was the first course of a scheme Lebua dubs “emotional tourism,” but derided by some as “poverty tourism.”
Lebua flew about 30 of its top guests to an elephant camp in northern Thailand, with the idea that seeing the beasts and their handlers in miserable conditions would spark an altruistic streak in the food-loving high-rollers.

I am planning to visit thailand in may - for about a week and a half. I’m planning to go to bangkok and was originally planning to go to phuket but now a bit hesitant after hearing and reading tons of bad reviews and “warnings.” what would be the best ideal location to go after bangkok? somewhere full of culture, good food, great shopping and pretty safe. i was thinking maybe chiang mai? Also, any good hotels to stay in bangkok and the other location? ive heard staying near the sky train would be ideal. if so, any hotels near the sky train would be great. thanks! oh, one more, where’s the floating market?

Can someone tell me if there is a bar anywhere in thailand, where in the back of the bar there is something like a soap tub, that many people can get into? Kind of like a bath tub? If so, where at and can you somewhat explain what the tub is like? Thank You!!

Ive been trying to find out since i got back form holiday in Thailand. It was playing all the time there! Thanks

its me again, who will honeymoon in bangkok and puket, so I should not bring coats, jackets and long sleeves with me? so its safe to take only shorts and short skirts and a bikini? I really wanna double check on the weather since its december and where I come from its cold that time of the year. Im also going to kuala lampour, is it the same or different?

I’ve seen human trafficking and the sex slave industry up close and personal & it changed my life. I know that I need to do something but I need help knowing what…
I live in Australia & was wondering what Uni courses or classes I could attend to learn more about this subject. I want to be more qualified to help these people. My heart is for the women and children in Thailand…
If you know of anything or have any suggestions I would really appreciate them…Thanks!

We want to go to a non-tourist location, yet still safe with nice beaches. haveing never been there, we don’t know what time of year is the best weather either. Could someone give us an idea?

I’m going in October and abit worried £1000 won’t enough for fun and games for 10 days ;)

I have an iPhone in Bangkok, but my 100 THB 1-2-Call cards run out of time without my making any calls.
I’ve turned off location services, auto-email, and am not using web browsers. Are there other iPhone services that could be draining my minutes? Anyone else have a solution to this problem?

Me and a couple of my good mates are going on an asian trip at the end of chinese new year like start of next yearish… (So the plane tickets are cheap) We are going to singapore, then thailand, then japan, then bali, then back to australia in one month. So basically what im asking is how much will it basically cost and stuff…. like advice and stuff.. We will all have about 7kish-10kish +1k spare for emergencies and credit card for emergencies… will that be enough? In thailand we are hoping to stay at one of my mates relatives houses for free + food…. and whenever sleeping in hotels rent 1 room only with two beds and i sleep on the couch. So i was wondering if this is fine with that amount of money? And any advice please :S
Also if anyone would know the price for the whole flight around end of year (After christmas and after chinese new year please write them down it would be greatly appreciated)

I’ve been in the Phils for 3 weeks now and I’m shocked with value of hotels and guesthouses.
I’ve enjoyed my time here. The natural scenery is world class. The food is good and the people are among the best I’ve ever met.
But I’ve travelled extensively in Thailand, Indo, Cambo, Malaysia, Laos, and Vietnam and none of those countries left me with a bad taste in my mouth (consistently) after shelling over big money for poor accommodation.
Look- I don’t mind staying in crap hole’s, I just don’t like paying $15 US for the privilage. I also don’t mind paying $15 US (600 P) but I would like the room to come with a functioning shower, a mozzie screen in the bathroom, etc.
Extra annoying is that most hotels are empty!!
So…after that little rant…. can anyone explain why the accommodation market in the Phils seems so out of whack compared to it’s ASEAN neighbours?
And do you think it might be contributing to the lack of tourism? (that I keep reading the government wants encourage)

I’m finishing my honours this year and hoping to do a Masters next year. If I’m able to successfully get funding (which looks likely), I would like to actually do something different this summer and do a bit of travelling.
My options:
1. My friend is a teacher and has time off during the summer, so we were talking about the idea of getting a Eurostar ticket and backpacking across Europe which would be amazing.
2. Go with a company for 4 weeks to Thailand, where I could stay in a Buddhist Monastery for a few days, stay in Bangkok, go trekking in the jungle and learn to dive - do my PADI. I would also meet loads of people. Would be slightly more expensive though, but everything (part from return flights) is included.
3. Apply for summer internships in America and Canada in my hopeful later chosen career.
The first two are more appealing to me tbh - I’m hoping to go travelling after my Masters anyway and hoping to include internships abroad in that-there would be more chance…

Hi all,
I’m looking to go travelling around asia next year probably Sept-Mar. Planning India/Thailand/Singapore/Sri Lanka/Indonesia/Hong Kong/Japan etc. If anybody has done similar before could you please help with the below questions :-
1/ I have found cheap flights to fly from one place to another Ie. Sri Lankan airways….. My query is if I were to book online, say for a flight from Bangkok to Sri Lanka, Whilst I was in Bangkok do they just give you a reference to present at the airport like the budget air lines do over here? It’s just that I’m presuming if they had to post out tickets etc it would be very difficult to arrange if stopping in hotels/Apartments etc?
2/ What is the best option for accomodation? I will be travelling with my girlfriend …… Is it best to look for cheap hotels or are cheap apartments less expensive and where is the best place to look for them? Also is it best to book before we leave for the next destination or to look around once we are there?
Thanks in advance for any HELPFUL answers!

Recently I went to Thailand and I met a Really nice Girl… when I took her back to the hotel to smash her I realised she had Balls and a Willy..

In six months (late May 2009) I’m going on a 2 week trip to Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
If I were to get my navel pierced some time this month, would it be healed enough for my to swim/not worry about it getting infected when I go on my trip?
I know they are notoriously slow to heal, but so far I have a very good track record with piercings (4 in my ears, no infections or rejections, I took good care of them) and I am scrupulous about hygiene. I would have it done at a very clean reputable place. I’m about to turn 20 - I’m old enough and mature enough not to fiddle with it all the time.
I might or might not swim in a swimming pool while staying at a hotel in one of these countries. If my piercing seems like it’s still open, I’d avoid swimming, just to be safe. However, these countries aren’t known for being as clean as America, and I probably won’t be able to clean the piercing as often or as thoroughly while I’m there.
Should I get the piercing now and hope it will be mostly healed in 6 months, or should I wait til I get back from the east?

Me and my family want to go to Thailand for Chrismas - how much will a holiday be roughly all inc?

Hello, i am a 17 and i live in America, more specifically Texas. Yet, sadly i hate the heat and love snow. And I have only been to Mexico and the Bahamas. I have a chance to participate a exchange program and live in a different country for a year. It looks very interesting,
My first chose was japan, i am very interested in anime, video games and I’ve been trying to learn the language for a while now. but it doesn’t look like i would be able to go there.
Then my second was England, I’ve always wanted to visit there. All their famous literature and i guess a lot because of the BBC…not to mention there would be no language barrier what so ever. But they don’t participate in this particular program.
So after sucking it up, looked at a couple i could still go too as of now my top picks are 1.Germany, 2. Thailand, 3. Belgium…but to tell the truth i know very little about these country’s and somewhat shooting in the dark. So please give me you opinions on this topic, any information would be very appreciated.
P.S. a suggestion for any ANY country is also appreciated.

My girlfriend is Filipina and she wants to go to a bar where they have a Filipino band playing.
