Hi I am traveling to bangkok and I notice when I was trying to book the hotel that bangkok is divided by areas, so I will like to know which is the best area to stay. I will like to stay in an area that is near shopping malls, restaurants, clubs and all these kind of places so if some body can help me and tell me which area is better (Dusit, Downtown Siam Square, Din Daeng, Sukhumuit Road, Silom Sathorn, Yaowarat (Chinatown) and old city).
I actually stayed in Thailand before so I know what to expect, as far as living conditions etc.
But I forgot the prices of things.
So I want to go back and stay there longer this time. I realize Chiang Mai and Isaan areas are cheaper, but how cheaply do you think I could live in Bangkok (or the outskirts where it might be cheaper)? realistically
Just like monthly, for food and motel only. I dont want to live in a guesthouse or a hostel, just a motel/hotel with air conditioning.
I just need to know Food and Motel/Hotel
We’ll be visiting Thailand this year, it will be our first time so I’ve got loads of questions:
-Phil.money to Baht, where can we have it exchanged? when we’ve already arrived in Bangkok or just in Manila?
-Phil. peso and THB exchange rate?
-Papers? we’ll be staying for just a week.
-Transpo from bangkok airport to hotel. Do we take the cab? How much is the fare? (either to Bangkok metropolis or Bangna area)
-Is it wiser to get a guided tour or just explore tourist spots by ourselves?
Thanks a bunch. Any info would be highly appreciated.
I`m going to thailand for my honeymoon at 12or13th february 2008.But i`m not quite sure which city to go.
Me and my husband want to have a unforgetablle time there so please suggest which city would be best.
Also if u could suggest a beautiful resort for our accomodation may be for 7-10 days which won`t cost too much.Something around 1500-2500 baht per night.
I `ve checked lots of sites for hotel but i`m too confused what would be best.
I want to have a luxirious experience, with not costing too much money.
plz let me know if u have good ideas.
I live in Thailand and I want to buy Sangean Wi-Fi Internet radio because I want to listen to music and news from 6000 radio station around the world without conneting the radio to computer. But most of radio dealers do not deliver to Thailand and some may do but they charge me the shipping rate too high. What should I do?

I’ve been studying the Theravada Buddhist philosophy, and have become increasingly interested with Buddhist teachings and am ready to take on the Buddhist lifestyle and further my studies, I thought Thailand would be a good place to do this.
I plan on taking a two week trip, probably in the summer, but maybe a little before.
In terms of shelter, I only need the bare necessities, not even a hotel, as long as their isn’t a high risk of poisonous snakes or spiders killing me in the night I’ll be good, I’d even sleep on a matt on the ground in a shared room.
I’ll spend most of my time around Bangkok at various Buddhist sites, so not much traveling or tourist costs, I do intend to eat well, as I’ve heard there, is great food to be had, but I’ve heard the food is extremely cheap their, so I should be able to eat pretty well for the cost of fast food here:)
For anyone who is familiar with Thailand, about how much do you think I’ll need. No clue how much the plane ticket would cost.
My mum is taking myself and my family to Thailand and Malaysia in 2010. I will be 18 while on the trip. 18 is the legal drinking age in Australia, but would I be legally allowed to drink while I am in Thailand and Malaysia?

Okay…so i’ve already posted a few questions. And i’ve gotten plenty of replies on whether to go to Phuket or Pattaya… From what i’ve gathered, pattaya is a bit run down… and phuket is nicer but it’s also run down in some areas. It is a bit more
expensive in phuket but is it worth it? Or, if we stayed in pattaya…could we take daily tours to islands in that area where the beaches are nicer…. We are from Hawaii…so we won’t be spending too much time laying out on the beach…more traveling by boats ….
What we want from this vacation is to experience the culture and to do some things out of the norm ….
1. elephant trekking
2. chartered boat rides to remote islands with beautiful beaches …jet skiing, parasailing etc…
3. clubbing…maybe beach parties as well…
4. crocadile farms and zoos
definitly going to do bangkok for a few days first..shopping, markets, temples…
but if anyone has any ideas on where else we should go while in thailand…please let me know !!!

Four of us are travelling from Bangkok to Siem Reap Cambodia via taxi if possible this November 2008. We want to know if there are taxis taking that route for a fairly low price. If there is, we want to know the name of the taxi, its address and contact number so that we could get in touch with it.
I assume your a Brit yourself and hence the question . Even if you could find a British subject ANYWHERE in Thailand you must realise that he cannot help much except in giving you general advise because he wont be able to PRACTICE law in Thailand ! This general advise would be confined to commercial matters . (I have read British law myself )
If you want a lawyer that deals with Farang a lot you could try Siam legal and they have a branch in Chiang Mai based on thier write up . You could first chat online with them for preliminaries . To deal with Thai matters you must deal with a Thai lawyers because they would be familiar with Thai law especially the statute part which is unique to a particular country
the person wanting to obtain visitors visa is a bar girl does this create a prblem when going for interview

I’m going to thailand in the beginning of december. Spending 3 nights in bangkok and 6 nights in phuket. Was wondering if anyone could suggest some hotels for my stay there. Looking to spend about $50 a night. In bangkok i am looking for something close to shopping, rest. etc.. wanting to go to the night market…a tour or two…. close to the railway system… and in phuket we have not decided if we want to stay on patong, karon or kata. Not sure what the best decision would be. We are looking for a lively area but not too crazy with people haggling us every minute to buy things. Just restaraunts shopping nice beach… take daily tours to other islands. Please help… there are soooooo many options !!!!!!
Anywhere in Thailand, can you give me the name and rates of a specific hostel, hotel, apartment complex that you know is real cheap? I would want my own room but thats about all that matters. Fan or AC. Internet would be cool but not necessary.
