For our first lesson in Filipino, we will learn all about Thailand. Yet our teacher asked us to research more about Thailand and how it differ from the Philippines. I found some site but I guess it’s not enough and well described. =|

Me and boyfriend plan to travel to thailand for about 3weeks in november. I have no idea how to get best deals for flights and accomodation. Help us get to thailand starting in dublin. Recommendations on what to see and do would be great. Where we ride an elephant, see temples, soak up culture, history and a little nightlife? Thank you
If you usually go to Thailand, they the best place to learn it is during your many visits. No place better to learn a language than “in country”.

I’m going to visit Thailand with my friend at the beginning of June. We are going to spend a couple of days in Bangkok and see as many as we can “must see” things there. Then we are planning to spent 4-5 days in Koh Samui. Could anybody, please, tell me how much money we need if we are oriented to cheap ‘backpacking’ travel. No luxury hotels, no expensive restaurants.
Just need to know a bit of Thailand history nothing huge just main points ect, wikipedia and other sites gave way too much information.
Im visiting phuket in september and need some advise on hotels…
I want top quality (preferably 5 star)
Cheap (i.e under $80)
Nearbye to Phuket town centre (i.e walk or cheap taxi)
and
Beach on the hotel resort
Does a hotel with this criteria exist??
You can either take a taxi which will cost about 2,000 baht or take a bus which will cost somewhere around 300 baht. Both will take about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to get to Hua Hin. You also can get to Hua Hin by train but it’s about a 5 hour trip the last time i did it and never again. The easiest is taxi because he will take you to the front door of your hotel or resort. One other option is you can check with your hotel to see if they provide transportation and the cost.
Next week a friend and I (both female) are spending a week in Hua Hin. Through the internet I contacted a car transfer company and enquired about taxi rates from Bangkok Airport (BKK) to our hotel in Hua Hin. We agreed on a price via email.
The odd thing is, they only accept cash upon arrival of the destination. I see alot of websites where you have to prepay when you book the service online.
I am concerned about safety. Are these taxi services legitimate? And are we likely to be ripped off, mugged or kidnapped?? Maybe I am just being paranoid but I want to feel safe considering we are 2 female travellers and like to carry cash on us (versus travellers cheques which are too inconvenient to cash up).
Thanks in advance for your advice.
You have to be more specific than that. Where in Thailand? Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Krabi?
Ive been looking for flights to Hua Hin in October but never comes up with any results, does anyone know an airport in the uk that flys to Hua Hin?
Non-smoking rooms
I am driving from Pattaya to Phuket mid September, stopping at Hua Hin for a night or two and am looking for a dog friendly hotel in both places. My dog is a mid sized Australian cattle dog, very well behaved.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jackson
Can Anyone Recomend A Hotel Or Resort In Or Near Koh Chang In Thailand That Does Not Allow Children?
My wife and I are planning a romantic vacation to a beach in Thailand, preferably near Koh Chang, and are looking for a place without babies and children.
I’d just buy one of the many for sale. Sunbelt Thailand usually has several for sale. I’ve dealt with them on other things (not buying bars) and they’ve always seemed to be above board.

I am just wondering that anybody stayed in Sugar Palm Hotel or Kata beach hotel in Phuket before?.
I am thinking about staying in either Sugar Palm Hotel or Kata beach hotel. Please give me suggestion about the room, service and location.
Bangkok - Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza, or Patpong will blow your mind.
Unless you want to remain alone, you will have company within about 5 minutes.
Then, dependent on what you want to do, like trekking in Chiang Mai, in the mountains and jungle, or diving and snorkelling in Koh Samui, with full-moon parties on Koh Phangan.
Avoid the tours offered - they can be done much cheaper on your own.
Get a Lonely Planet guide, which has all the info you need for cheap places to stay, and how to travel.
i’m after a long stay visa (for a year) but we’re not planning to get married straight away and at the moment i won’t be working as soon as i get there. i also dont have any savings to declare. is this possible? or will i need a job or volunteering plans to get the 1 year visa? and when the time for renewal comes, do i need to come back to england and reapply or can i for example have my passport stamped in cambodia for another year? are the circumstances the same if you’re married to a thai national? please help!

The date is January and February 2007. This estimated cost should include hostel, food, transport and things like that. I appreciate if you can give me your recommedations in US dollars. Thanks a lot!
One more thing, I’m from Argentina, so budget travel means really that!

Hi,
Why are men so crazy about Thai girls? And not only European and American, even Asians (Japanese, Koreans) find them irrestible.
I think beauty is universal, yet why should Thai girls be favoured? If being oriental is the answer, why are Japanese men not satisfied with Japanese girls? And Korean men with Korean girls? Can anyone explain?
